September 24, 2017:
Daniel Jacobs Clarifies Role of Al Haymon in Eddie Hearn Union
By Radio Rahim
This past Saturday night, former middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) officially revealed that he signed a multi-fight promotional agreement with UK-based promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport.
Jacobs also signed a multi-fight agreement with HBO.
When all of the news was revealed, there was a lot of confusion over the relationship between Jacobs and his longtime adviser, Al Haymon.

Most Haymon fighters are not contractually tied to any promoter in particular. That was one of the big issues when an army of his fighters were competing under the promotional banner of Golden Boy Promotions - nearly all of Haymon advised fighters were basically working with Golden Boy without a promotional agreement - including Jacobs. That Haymon, Golden Boy relationship officially fell apart in early 2015.
Haymon would usually hook up with his promotional partners to stage events under the Premier Boxing Champions banner.
And the majority of Haymon's business is conducted with HBO's main network rival, Showtime.
Jacobs becomes the first high profile Haymon advised fighter to sign a promotional deal and also a deal with Showtime's competitor.
This move could obviously lead to more Haymon advised fighters making similar moves. On Sunday, former champion Carl Frampton - who is advised by Haymon - announced that he signed a promotional deal with Frank Warren.
Jacobs indicates that nothing has changed between him and Haymon. He says the powerful adviser is here to stay and won't be on the outside looking in.
"Promotion-wise, we got one of the best promoters in the game, Eddie Hearn. I love the guy, he's tremendous at what he does. And I look forward to getting pushed. We still have Al on board. Al will always be my adviser. He was my adviser since the beginning of my career and when I hang my gloves up he'll be my adviser then as well. I have a full fledged circle and it's working in my favor," Jacobs told BoxingScene.com.

February 10, 2016:
An odd trend has developed in fighters advised by Al Haymon suddenly appearing in major HBO events. The high-powered adviser was functionally blacklisted in 2013 by the network’s old guard, preferring to not commit full-time license fees to what was becoming a part-time relationship.
The first effort in breaking that cycle came in early February, when World middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez announced he will be facing Amir Khan on May 5, airing live on HBO Pay-Per-View from Las Vegas. Khan is advised by Haymon but was free and clear to negotiate a fight with Alvarez, whose promoter Golden Boy Promotions has a pending $300 antitrust lawsuit filed against Haymon, its former business partner.
One week later, Gennady Golovkin and his team have formally announced an April 23 showdown versus another Haymon-advised boxer in unbeaten contender Dominic Wade. Their bout will air live on HBO’s flagship station, live from The Forum in Inglewood, California...
“There was no hesitation at all in working out a deal with Dominic Wade and his team” Tom Loeffler, managing director of K2 Promotions told BoxingScene.com. “We reached out to his promoter, Tom Brown (TGB Promotions), whom I’ve known for more than 20 years. We were able to agree on all terms in about a week...”
“I have nothing to do with whom the networks choose to work with, as (K2 Promotions) is open to do business with all promoters and managers,” Loeffler insists. “I’ve never had any issues whatsoever with Al, and there certainly weren’t any road blocks in making this fight. I dealt with Tom Brown directly, who worked with Al in making the fight happen.
“There wasn’t any hesitation on their side. They understand the opportunity. It means fighting for the middleweight title, against the best middleweight in the world. They were on board every step of the way. We made a few concessions to make the fight happen, they agreed to our terms and shortly thereafter contracts were signed, allowing us to announce the fight.”

Golovkin vs. Jacobs: Loeffler Updates on Negotiations, WBA Order
November 30, 2016:
So is Loeffler optimistic that a deal can be consummated?
"I think so, I really do,'' he said, while at the Palm Restaurant in Los Angeles, where a media gathering was held of WBO cruiserweight titlist, Oleksander Usyk.
"I mean every conversation I've had with Al Haymon it's always been positive, there's never been, 'Well, lets take a fight here in-between' and the WBA has been very firm that they want [that fight] and Gennady could've petitioned to fight somebody else in December but he wanted to go straight into the Jacobs fight"

You're saying all those millions of Mexican boxing fans in the US don't know any more about Ruiz than they know about Whyte?
That's crazy talk!

He might possibly rejoin PBC when his Matchroom contract contact ends, but he isn't with them now.

He really wants Deyonce before another go at AJ and until then he is happy to keep ******** on PPV against high level guys.
Unless the offer to fight AJ is retirement money he don't want that fight just yet.

This isn't that much of a big deal to call out Eddie on. And Eddie would be right not to push for this fight. Why would two Brits fight in MSG on an American debut of AJ? But more to the point, the fight would never be promoted like it should. They should fight in Wembley, not in Vegas or New York.

We don't care if an American is fighting, so long as the fighters are good! Whether it's Pacquiao, Sergio Martinez, GGG, or Lomachenko, as long as you can fight, you'll get support! It's been proven many times!
