Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder Explains Importance of Keeping Title in America

Hearn admitted it was real. He's on camera saying he spent weeks negotiating with Haymon and Finkel, they answered all his questions, the offer was real, but Joshua was leaning towards turning it down to fight at home.
Showtime is on record saying the offer was real and they're the ones that would have financed it.
This is such a great example of you UK fans living in an alternate universe. Hearn is literally a cult leader and has you guys completely brainwashed. It's just like Donald Trump in America. Both using the same tactics they learned from Don King.
Hearn was on Twitter calling that liar Espinoza a fraud after he claimed to have sent all the details when he clearly didn't. Hearn even said he could put them up and show everybody if he wanted because he knew Espinoza had absolutely nothing. He backed down because he had nothing to show. In this war between Hearn and all of them, don't you think they'd do anything to show fans that Hearn was a liar? They'd crawl over hot coals. Don't you dare f3cking pretend they wouldn't.Comment

Finkel was very up front, from the beginning, that there was no problem with the fight being on Sky as long as Sky paid fair market value.
https://www.***************.net/2018...eontay-wilder/
Revealing some negotiations over parts of the US deal did take place, Finkel exclusively told World Boxing News: “Eddie wanted assurances from us that the fight would be on Sky Sports in the UK and we said; ‘As we are putting up $50m, as long as Sky matches any other bid they got it’.
“We just didn’t want Sky to post a low number on Pay-Per-View and we could have gotten more to recoup the $50m which would have been on Showtime PPV in the US. If he took the $50m that would have been our choice. We also acknowledged that if they are paying us $15m (instead for a UK fight), he could just go on Sky – there’s not really a question about that.”Comment

Originally posted by WBC WBA IBFA few reasons. He didn't want to sign a four fight deal with any broadcaster. He likes being able to own his event, sell the rights in each territory, participate in revenue streams promoters usually hide from fighters, etc.
He wanted the Breazeale fight to be seen by a wider audience, to continue growing his profile as he has been. He'll be seen by far more people on Showtime than he would be on DAZN. There's no reason the Breazeale fight had to be on DAZN in order to fight Joshua.
He wants the Joshua fight to be on PPV so they can both make as much as possible. It doesn't make sense to put a fight of that size on DAZN.
DAZN doesn't have a deal with Joshua and couldn't guarantee that Wilder would get to fight Joshua if he signed with DAZN. Even if Wilder is willing to consider a huge DAZN offer, it would have to be just for the Joshua fights, not other fights, and Wilder would have to know how much Joshua is getting.
He's taking less to fight on Showtime so he has a bigger audience? Haha. F3ck off!!.
DAZN have the right to bid more for the fight over Showtime. Get this into your thick f3cking head. If Showtime produce, Hearn has no problem in doing that.
They'll tell Wilder how much AJ is getting. They'll offer him just the 2 fights with AJ. Wilder will turn them down. Your deranged madness will go into overdrive with more propaganda. We all know that. F3ck off you fat Canadian and get a life.Comment

Sky was told they'd get the fight if they matched BT's offer.
Espinoza publicly posted the portion of the offer pertaining to UK rights, and it explicitly stated the fight could be on Sky.
Only many months after Hearn admittedly rejected the deal in hopes of bringing the fight to the UK, did he invent a new excuse that broadcast rights were the hold up. It's total bull****. The fight being on Sky was never going to be an issue as long as Sky was willing to pay fair market value.Comment

This is like insisting Wilder has to fight Whyte first all over again.
Very clear which side is negotiating in good faith and which side is playing games.Comment

It's funny how many Englishmen don't seem to understand english. Wilder didn't say he's NOT fighting anyone (to keep a title in America), he said he was gonna make a "path of destruction" to keep it in America.
So how do you all get so confused??
Oh, I see, you wanna convert that into "that's why he won't fight AJ". LoL!! AJ (with his own mouth) said give me $50 mil and he'll fight tomorrow. AJ was shown $50 mil and PASSED.
Ever since you all have been desparate to "paint" a picture where Wilder (WHO MADE THE OFFER) doesn't want the fight. Because AJ shamed you all and said, "... go train and fight him yourself", right?
Give it up girls. The fight WILL happen, and it's a 50/50 proposition (who wins). Wait for it.
Both of these are facts that came straight from Deontay.
You're the one who needs to give it up.Comment
