Why does everybody say Margarito has such a good chin?

His chin is deffinately not bad but everyone talks about him like he has the best chin a man can have. He has been dropped a few times and he has been hurt a few times. His chin is pretty good but I dont think he has the iron chin people like to say he has. He has never been in there with any elite fighters either, a lot of prospects seem to have good chins then gett KO'd once they step up, undefeated prospects who have never been beat at that. Margarito has been dropped, has been hurt, and has lost 4 times and never fought an elite fighter. He has beat some decent fighters but his power and chin are still unproven at the elite level. Nobody come at me all mad and start flipping out I am just posting my thoughts on this and im interested to hear other peoples.

In 3 of his loses he was in the age between 15-18 years old.

His chin is good enough to stand up to all welterweight and jr.middleweight and possable middleweight punchs.

Early on Santos had ko's then he strictly started to box. Reason most boxers or some true boxers are succesfull is cause they have enough power to get respect.

Plus this is boxing, punchs are going to land they are going to hurt but it doesn't mean you can't recover.

I dont understand what you are trying to get at there but Santos was never known as a puncher. Margarito has never fought a top fighter and has been hurt,dropped, and outclassed at times. Im just saying when he steps up the comp there is a good chance an elite guy can hurt him. His chin is just always talked about as an iron chin and I dont see why. He has been dropped by nobodies, hurt by a guy who is not a big puncher, and outboxed by guys who arent that good. There is a good chance he can beat soem elite fighters, but also a good chance it could be a disaster for him.

Mosley had great skills and is able to stay away from punches a lot or roll with ounches a lot to avoid getting hit alot and not getting hurt.

Mayweather can avoid punches and not get hit as much and avoid getting hurt.

De La Hoya can avoid punches and not get hit ass much so he can avoid being hurt.

Margarito doesnt have skills like them guys and gets hit a lot and doesnt have a good enought defense.

If them guys had the same skills as Margarito chances are they would be getting KO'd and floored all the time, but they use there great defense to help prevent that from happening.

Name the fighters he's lost to. And i'll tell you where their at in their careers. If you don't think Santos was a step up then you must have just started watching boxing for only a few years.

From your description of Margarito you havn't seen many of his fights. Did you see when Margario got floored? Then you must have seen how he got up and still won the fight.

Theirs a reason Mayweather and Winky ain't fighting Margarito, ask them and see if its valid.
