So lets say Loma gets the WBC in Sept, and Teo becomes mandatory in July (beating Nakatani), then doesn't Commey have a year to fight his mandatory before getting stripped ?lomachenko becoming undisputed is definitely happening he's fighting campbell for the wbc belt in sept then winner of lopez vs comey or comey gets stripped for refusing to fight lopez! loma will just wait for that outcome to play itself out. unification only trumps mandatory when both champions agree to fight each other. loma will force comey to fight lopez before unifying with him as a show of power. either comey wins or lopez proves by winning a belt he deserves a shot at lomachenko!
Loma wants Commey (and his belt), Commey wants Loma (and the payday, and possibly his belts if Commey confident), so aren't they already agreeing they want to fight each other ?
Why would Loma force Commey to fight Teo ? Loma doesn't give a monkeys, he just wants the belt. Why would Loma do that in a show of power ? Can't see Loma giving a monkeys about shows of power either except to beat whoever has the belt he wants in the ring, and to do it as soon as possible, which is a direct showdown with Commey.Comment

Absolutely - almost twilight zone reading comments about the WBC 'breaking the rules' when all the alphabets have been making up the rules as they go along since as long as I remember.Comment

Exactly. Today, Bob is telling the truth.“Now from our end, of course we’d like for Loma to beat Luke Campbell and then bring the winners together for one big fight for all the marbles. That’s what boxing needs more of, these fights to get rid of all the confusion of who’s the best. And we now have a chance to make that a reality in the next few months to come.”Comment

My question, Is Lou Dibella and Commey down with that plan? I sure hope so, because this is getting real good! I can't see Commey, the Champion, agreeing to fight Lopez for the right to face Lomachenko. He was already supposed to be fighting Lomachenko, but he was injured! Why wouldn't he just wait to fight Lomachenko "for all the marbles?" Once Dibella confirms, I'll exhale! Commey trains in Brooklyn, and Teofimo is from Brooklyn! MSG ON FIRE!
Isn't that why Lopez's next fight is an eliminator? So he becomes the mandatory and then it's either fight Lopez or vacate.Comment

comey has his tune up fight in iune/july so his schedule matches up with lopez. comey did not want Loma next now that ship has sailed. he was offered to fight lomachenko after winning the ibf belt but comey turned it down claming he was injured then he said he would not fight loma without fighting a tune up first he also did not want to fight lopez next either basically loma feels that comey is screwing around and trying to milk his ibf belt for as long as possible before losing it. as for lopez lomachenko said he needs to become champion before fighting him as he brings nothing to the table. So lets say Loma gets the WBC in Sept, and Teo becomes mandatory in July (beating Nakatani), then doesn't Commey have a year to fight his mandatory before getting stripped ?

Conditions upon New Champion. The WBC may, as it in its sole discretion deems proper
and necessary, impose conditions upon a new champion filling a vacant title, including but
not limited to: (a) ordering the first defense of the title as a mandatory defense against a
WBC-designated challenger (who may be any Qualified Challenger or a challenger selected
through a final elimination bout or a WBC-recognized tournament. Upon request, the WBC
may in its discretion approve one or more voluntary defenses prior to ordering a mandatory
defense.
Yeah this says you're rightComment

Here's another time where they wanted two mandatory defenses
The head of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman, said the winner of the upcoming fight between Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter will be obligated to make two mandatory defenses. Porter and Garcia will collide on Saturday night, for the vacant WBC welterweight title, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.Comment
