I read somewhere that Spence was offered $20M for a Canelo fight. If that’s the case, Spence should be criticized for not taking it. I don’t necessarily think not fighting someone outside your division is “ducking.” But in Spence’s case. He was perfectly willing to fight a guy moving up two divisions. So he should be willing to move up two divisions himself, especially for a career high payday. He shouldn’t be completely crucified. But if definitely doesn’t pass the smell test.

I get your logic, but Mikey was the one insisting on that fight. Spence tried to blow it off for quite a while. Then GOOD money and being ducked by others (i.e. no paydays) pushed him to do it to Mikey. Spence didn't really want that fight. Then Mikey's mouth gave him motivation on it.

Spence needs to naturally grow before a Canelo fight. Let's not forget, Canelo wieghed 173 fighting Mayweather at 154. He has always been a lot bigger than his fight divisions, height notwithstanding.

Then imposing a weight limit of 170 on Jacobs, wow, incredible. No pass for Jacobs either, he is much like Canelo .... fighting divisions smaller than he should. Boxing needs to go back to making weight an hour before the fight. Overweight? Cancelled with a loss and loss of half your next purse.

Errol Spence and Juan Manuel Marquez say that Daniel Jacobs beat Canelo. That settles it for sure. Jacobs is the real winner! I must have watched a fight from an alternative universe because in that universe Canelo was the clear winner. But thanks to Spence and Marquez I now know who really won here on good old planet Earth.

I guess it all depends on you ask but a lot of people had Danny Jacobs winning Saturday night. Albeit, I wasn't one of them but many people did. Even Boxingscene had scored it a draw.

This is just one of the reasons why I said that this was Canelo's worst performance since Lara. He failed to put his punches together in this fight as he did in the Erislandy Lara fight.

Thank you. A rational opinion. When Boxing Scene scores it a draw you know it was a close fight. Internet fans seem to only be cheerleaders and are personally hurt if their hero gets a fair evaluation.

I say again, Canelo gets ARGUABLE DECISIONS in all of his marquee fights. He doesn't deserve the hype.

By the time Erroll Spence reaches 160 lbs, Canelo Alvarez would be fighting at 175 lbs; Unless they can agree to meet at a catch weight of a 154 lbs.

Very tru, although he fought Mayweather at 154 and came in weighing 173. Lucky for him Floyd didn't give a **** about a weight restriction clause, unlike the one Nelo gave Jacobs.

Canelo has never had a KO in a marquee fight. Obviously the Khan fight doesn't qualify.

And yea, until Spence naturally grows to middle/super-middle, that wouldn't qualify either. Nelo fought Floyd at 154, but came in weihing 173 (Kovalev's weight). And he's good, so yea, he blows guys too little out, except for Floyd.

The fight is out there. Check it out. Nelo looks 30 lbs. bigger than Floyd, but ...

This Spence is hallucinating. He has hard time knocking out a lightweigh and got contented of only moving around to win the fight. A kind of over hyped figure...

Mikey outweighed Spence in that fight. He may have been a tub of protein shakes but he was NOT a lightweight.

It’s what Mikey’s dumbass did. Jumped from 135 to 147 to fight the best guy there. With no pit stop at 140, no easy fights at 147. Etc.

If Spence does it, it would probably not be a big two weight jump, he’d probably go to 154, fight a few times there. Then move up to 160, fight a few fights before Canelo. That is the logical way to do it anyway. The weight jumping that Brook, Khan and Mikey did was ******.

Just saying, it is crazy how Spence, who couldn`t even stop small Mikey garcia, even thinks he can fight Canelo. canelo would murder him.

Mikey outweighed Spence in that fight. And a lot of fights have been stopped when fighter was being beat around the ring the way Mikey was. No shame to Spence, shame is all on Mikey.

But credit Mikey too, he has enough skills not to get himself KO'd in a very bad situation. He is a very good fighter.
