This is from a thread on here around the time of the deal. I remember reading this in a article & Icha quotes part of the article in his post. Can't find the article now doe, but assuming its out there somewhere.
DAZN wont affect his fights in mexico, at least in the near future, he had an agreement with DAZN to keep his fights in mexico free on national tv, even if there is like a 10 or 15 minute delay , canelo said "that was very important for him to continue to give fans his fights for free"..Comment

I don't know for sure but I'd guess canelo has his own Mexico tv deal outside of Golden boy. But golden definitely gets a cut of other country license deals because they produce their own broadcast and sell it. Golden boy has different announcers and everything for international feed. They own those rights which is why if you watch old Canelo fights on DAZN it's not lampley and rest of the HBO) Showtime crew who called the fights back in the day. It's the golden boy crew they hired for international feed to call those fights not HBO/Showtime announcers.
But those Mexican Stations have their own announcers and production crew etc. Golden Boy doesn't produce any of it.Last edited by bigdunny1; 05-07-2019, 03:38 AM.Comment

Yeah he might be saying that but part of it is Mexico is paying him a shyt ton of money for the rights to his fights. It will be interesting to see whenever his contract ends and there is a bidding war if he stays with them. But my guess is those networks will outbid anyone anyway dude is drawing rating like the Superbowl or Olympics for them. They going to hand him a blank check to keep airing his fightsThis is from a thread on here around the time of the deal. Yes it was shown on Sky sports. I believe that the promoters; Eddie Hearn and Oscar De La Hoya in association with Canelo Alvarez license television rights to different broadcasts of their bouts around the world.Comment

Well yea I'm sure thats part of it.
Let him spin it how he wants to spin it in the media. I won't bust his balls on that.
And hell maybe he legit feels that way idk.Comment
