Canelo has been fighting the best since 22 years old, Lil G's first "elite" fighter was Jacobs at 32 or 33
You cannot just turn pro in Kazakhstan as some Mexcican who was picked up by Golden Boy at a very young age because he looked so different and was a promoters dream.

GGG was one of the most decorated amateurs in the history of the sport. He had over 350 amateur fights and only 5 losses.

GGG won amateur world championships and medals between Lightwelterweight (141 lb), welterweight, superwelter and middleweight!

At the time GGG was 18 he fought at lightwelterweight and then moved up 3 weight divisions to middleweight before he turned pro at age 25. In the time Canelo had 30 pro fights GGG had over 300 amateur fights.

          Quote for truth!

Hagler retired at age 33. He was long retired at 35+ when Canelo finally stepped up to fight GGG. Imagine Hagler fighting on 2-3 more years, obviously he would have been slower and easier to beat.

There is not a single active champion in the top P4P rankings at GGGs age, only guys who already got knocked out (legendary Pacquiao) or struggle badly.

There's a reason all you uneducated haters have red karma, just posting a ton of garbage all day and not knowing shit about boxing.

Martin Murray had 1 loss on his record which was considered a robbery vs Martinez in Argentina. He also had a highly controversial draw vs Sturm in germany. Murray was a top 5 middleweight at the time GGG faced him.

GGG dominated Murray and knocked him out, the only knockout loss in Murrays entire career.

Daniel Geale was a Unified Middleweight champion, he ducked GGG and when he had a controversial SD loss to Barker he finally stepped up to face GGG, he was considered top 5 in the division.

GGG obliterated Geale in 3 rounds, who only had 2 very disputable SD losses in his career.

Macklin had a robbery SD loss to Sturm in Germany and then went on to face Martinez who he dropped and was ahead on the scorecards when he himself got koed in the 11th round. Macklin was considered a top 10 middleweight.

GGG trashed Macklin and knocked him out in 3 rounds, nobody ever destroyed Macklin.

Lemieux was very young and unexperienced when he had 2 losses early in his career at age 22/23, he then bounced back and had a very good career and became IBF middleweight champion, knocking out Rosado and then knocking down Ndam 4 times and becoming the IBF middleweight champion when GGG faced Lemieux, Lemieux was considered a top 5 middleweight.

GGG dominated Lemieux, totally destroyed him and knocked him out in 7 rounds.

              the top bold

Red, green....C'mon now. Just a way of being salty/friendly ''ANONYMOUSLY'' (a person can easily see who's dishing the love/hate. There's an entire forum where people collect greens like spare change !!!!!!).

I'm not going to shlt on those names. It would be redundant.

              So, 5 years ago....lets see.....
GGG would be 32, Nelo23. Same 9 year gap. I wouldn't call that Nelo PRIME. Just young.

So, as fate would have it, their PRIMES were NEVER meant to exist at the same time

Great post, you're right about all of it, just a lot of biased haters who don't seem to like non-North American boxers so they'll celebrate him taking a "loss" even if he wins every round and pretend like age is not a factor in boxing. Boxing seems to attract the worst type of people, and it seems like you can't really depend on a lot of the worst type of people to view things, or speak about things, in any type of honorable way, or have any basic standards of decency or fairness.

                  So let's be objective:

                  https://www.boxingscene.com/forums/s...elo+prediction

                  Poll: 188 votes
                  - Canelo: 73 votes to win (56 decision, 17 KO/stoppage)
                  - GGG: 115 votes to win (18 decision, 97 KO/stoppage)

More people thought GGG would by KO than Canelo could win under any circumstances. So - YOU - the fans "exaggerated" that GGG would knock Canelo out. So I am not exaggerating.

                  Own it boy

Not all punches are equal. If a Lightweight and a Welterweight both punch a Middleweight one of their punches will be stronger.

Just because Gennady threw more punches doesn't mean he was doing more damage. It literally just means the threw more punches.

You look for things like panting (from body shots), wincing, KD's, bruising, swelling, or cuts to indicate effectiveness of punches.

In the first fight - where you allege GGG won - Canelo showed virtually no signs of damage inflicted...despite Gennady landing more punches every round. To be fair GGG also showed no signs of damage in the first fight

In the 2nd fight Canelo battered GGG despite landing less punches per round. GGG was also panting at several points in the fight from body shots. GGG - who was NEVER gone backward in his 38 career fight - was backing up against Canelo. Judges notice that. They notice that Canelo is backing GGG up (who doesn't back up on his own accord). They also notice how bruised and swollen his face was. Likewise judges notice GGG cut Canelo and Canelo cut GGG.

Those are objective ways to evaluate and measure effective aggression.

You're being too simple. Canelo was not some random MW fighter. He was and is the Face of Boxing...the A side if you will. A sides ALWAYS dictate fight terms. Always:

Margarito met at 150 with a catchweight for Pacman WITH a rehyrdation clause

                  Canelo met Floyd at 152

                  Cotto met Manny at 145

                  Pavlik met BHop at 170

Dawson came DOWN to 168 after calling out Ward

Maidana let Floyd pick his gloves

Floyd let Oscar pick his gloves and the ring size

Canelo let GGG pick the judges in the rematch

Sergio met Cotto at 159 at Cotto's demands

Pacquiao agreed to USADA for Floyd

This is not a Canelo or MW issue. This is A-side stuff. A-side always dictactes fight terms Canelo accountable for it you can, but it existed long before Canelo and will exist long after.

What does that matter? Those are Golovkin's terms. When you enter in negotiations with another fighter you must find an agreement between both fighter's terms.

Canelo was and is the A-side. Canelo makes the rules. Canelo has the most PPV buys of any active fighter other than Manny and just signed the most lucrative boxing contract ever (besides Floyd...Canelo's is worth more, but Floyd got a $250 million for like 6-8 fights)

If GGG says he won't cut weight than he can't cry when guys fighting at LOWER weights won't fight him. Canelo and Cotto fought at 155. Canelo earned and WON the MW belt at 155. MW is 155-160. Canelo was the face of boxing.

GGG passed up a HUGE legacy fight by balking on 155/157 in negotiations. And when he FINALLY got his shot at 160...he may've squeaked out a win or earned a draw. A DRAW. Embarassing.
I asked for reigning Middleweight champions that cut weight to defend their titles. You gave me nothing.
Canelo was not a reigning Middleweight champion when he fought Cotto. Canelo fought a naturally smaller guy that was past prime at 155 pounds and that is supposed to be a monumental achievemet. Come on even you can't believe that.

Golovkin did not pick the judges. His camp objected to one judge. The replacement judge they suggested to be used by the NSAC was turned down and someone else was picked by the NSAC. Both sides agreed to the judges. What your saying isn't accurate.

Most on the list of fighters you provided that gave into the A side weight demands lost by the way.

The A side doesn't not pick everything concerning the fight. That's nonsense. Look at how many proposed fights fall apart because both sides can't agree. Two sides come together to make a fight and each side brings whatever leverage it can to the table. The second Golovkin Canelo fight was a good example. When Canelo failed his drug test Golovkin had a better bargaining position and held out for more money. He got what he wanted even though the failed drug test barely affected the drawing power of Canelo. There is some truth to this A side B side but some people are getting carried away.

Funny how before the first Canelo fight his 12 fans here said GGG was in his prime since he started late and he would be the next Bhop. As soon as the fight is signed then GGG is old and Canelo waited him out. Hilarious.
You bums have to stay consistent with your excuses for Borat.
GGG took that L and no amount of rationalizing will change that.
His fans are like domestic abuse victims, their so mentally scarred they may never recover.
Cash Cow Canelo aka P4P numero uno Canelo owns all of GGG’s belts and his legacy. Deal with it.

Ages 27 to 32 are prime years for most fighters. After that it's usually downhill. So get off your lazy ass and look up who he fought then get back to us with your list so we can tell you your conclusions are wrong creating a never ending thread in which no one will agree or change their minds. . Till then stop your incessant whining.
