They not the same level canelo beat GGG broke his face and beat every excuse out of him from the first fight including Mexican Style. Then beat Jacobs convincingly something GGG didn't do. GGG struggled with Jacobs canelo make him look foolish all night long. There is one king right now at middleweight and it's canelo.

Do you even watch what the other guys do in Canelo fights or do you just score for Canelo

I'm surprised to see so much negativity. Apart from Jacobs not turning up for the first few rounds and Canelo's gas tank depleting prematurely again I thought it was a good fight. Competitive but clear for Canelo

No excuses but that knee brace has me wondering too.... I still think Canelo did enough to win convincingly... and really surprised me with the bending and head movement... reminded me of Chavez Sr....Just on that.... styles make fights and DJ was not in it to win... he was in it to survive.... I believe should they fight again Canelo has the capability to make the necessary adjustments to win even more convincingly a 2nd time. I am however used to him not being aggressive enough to produce a ko.... also he does not possess the power for it either...

Good post...Danny was there and in a lot of rounds imo...but he never came to win.

I agree...I enjoyed the fight...Danny just seemed content to be competitive and go 12 rounds...don't feel he really tried to win. Have to credit Canelo some for that of course, but overall it was a good scrap

I will preface by saying that I believe Canelo deserved the win, but as far as fight excitement, at what point does canelo take accountability as well?? In almost all of his big fights, the level of excitement has underwhelmed and he's a common denominator. This fight was boring, his first fight with ggg wasn't exciting either, his fight with Cotto wasn't great, the Chavez Jr fight was horrible, his fight with Lara ****** (Yes I know Lara can have boring fights but he's also been in 2 fight of the yr quality fights as well). Canelo is too content to sit back and conserve energy and doesn't have the mentality to step on the gas unless he's dealing with a limited opponent such as a fielding, Smith, khan, Kirkland etc.

Great post. There are too many fan boys defending Canelo at every turn. I did not have a dog in this fight and was not rooting for either guy but I was rooting for a great fight. That's why I watch and love the sport. I get that the objective is to hit and not get hit but we do not need another Michael "second to" Nunn. How many of his fights were exciting? Nunn! I may be exaggerating but you get the point.

When your fighting high caliber opponents it’s sometimes hard to be exciting because you don’t want to take unnecessary risks. And at that level any mistake you make your opponent will make you pay. So it turns out to be more of a chess match. Also, it’s hard to have an exciting fight when your opponent just came in to survive for 12 rounds. And that’s what Jacobs did. Just like GGG did in the second fight. Easy win for Cinnamon last night. Jacobs won at best 3 rounds.

exactly! And the irony is that many of these fans boys were the same ones complaining of how boring mayweather was and how they couldn't wait until Canelo took over the Mexican dates because he'd bring back action fights. Now their tone has completely changed.
