Canelo Alvarez (52-1-2, 34 KOs) successfully defended his WBC, WBA, Lineal and Ring Magazine Middleweight World Titles and became the new IBF Middleweight World Champion by defeating Daniel "Miracle Man" Jacobs (35-3, 29 KOs) via 12-round unanimous decision.

Jacobs punked out after all the shyt he was talking and doing at the weigh in, and then paid 1M to show up 2 weight classes bigger then Canelo and still want no parts of trading with Canelo. He wanted to try and outbox canelo and even while canelo made him miss and look foolish he refused to take risks. Canelo is like a Swizz army knife he can beat you many ways. He can out box you or beat the Mexican Style out your azzz like he did GGG. tonight Jacobs stayed outside constantly throwing meaningless jabs that weren't connecting. So that's why the fight played out that way. Jacobs made it a less entertaining fight and let down Brooklyn and the culture.

This was a pretty forgettable fight. Not one I'd ever go back and watch. Same can be said about GGG 1&2. Danny Nelo & G are all elite. They aren't gonna produce a blockbuster against each other. In my eyes they all too close to the same level to produce anything crazy. Between Danny ggg and Canelo there's been 4 fights and only 1 kd the widest legitimate scorecard has been 114-112
There's been no blood besides a small cut to canelos eye. And no one was ever on the verge of being k.oedxx. That should tell u all u need to know about these 3. They're the big 3 of 160.

Move up fellas!!! Let Andrade & charlo have 160

They not the same level canelo beat GGG broke his face and beat every excuse out of him from the first fight including Mexican Style. Then beat Jacobs convincingly something GGG didn't do. GGG struggled with Jacobs canelo make him look foolish all night long. There is one king right now at middleweight and it's canelo.

Up until the 10th round it seemed like both fighters were content with a decision. The action pick up for Jacobs 10-12 but not enough to steal the show.

Good job canelo.. much respect. Who's next, WBO champ Andrade? Or WBC interm champ Charlo? Both will give u a good "American style" to compete against.. a real "1931" webster dictionary, copper colored American style. Are you up for the challenge?

I thought the GGG/Canelo fights were far more entertaining than this one. At one point I was even wishing it was 3G in there to liven things up.

You know a fights a tad dull when you start looking forward to the judges scorecards before its even over, just hoping the reading of the cards is a bit more interesting than the fight (they weren't).

They both showed great skills, particularly defensive ones, but it felt a bit like Jacobs used his length to strangle the fight without leveraging off it to win it in any way. Felt a bit sorry for the commentators at a few points too trying to make the most of punches that were either ineffective or blocked amongst the slow periods.

I love the sweet science, but I have to say this fight was strangely subdued and uneventful. It was not memorable at all, and Canelo did not seem at his best or perhaps it seemed that way because Jacobs was not coming to him like GGG. Does Canelo beat Andrade and Charlo? Probably. Does he beat Smith at super middle? Likely. I don't know if he beats Kovalev if he seriously wants to fight at light heavyweight.
