  • Comments Thread For: Daniel Jacobs Will Seriously Consider Move To 168-Pounds

Daniel Jacobs suggested he has outgrown the middleweight division following his defeat to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in Las Vegas on Saturday. Canelo prevailed courtesy of a unanimous points decision at T-Mobile Arena, collecting Jacobs' IBF strap to add to the WBA and WBC belts already in his possession.

I love Danny man. It's crazy he is one of those rare fighters that finds another gear in the later roubds. For wahtever reason he just can't seem to find it in the early rounds. If fights were still 15 rounds he'd be a nightmare for everyone.

I think he needs to move to 168. There's no point in staying at 160 he already fought and lost to the big Dawgs of the division. No point in sticking around to fight the flunkies. I think he'd do well at 168. Him and Callum Smith would be a hell of a fight. I can even see him at lhw someday

I think he becomes a Gate Keeper at that division. He fought cautiously against guy that don't hit as hard as a SMW does(Golovkin does ) and he still fights cautiously at times. I hope he doesn't try to say he lost this fight because he was weight drained or some b/s.

C'mon, his "another gear" is only second gear. It is just that he is so inactive during the 1st half of the fight any small improvement in the later rounds seems like a lot, but its not too impressive. I mean he is no Estrada who really turns it up and dominates in the later rounds. Jacobs goes from 1st gear in the early rds to 2nd gear in the later rds and Estrada goes from 3rd and 4th gear in the early rds to 6th gear in the later rds.

If you're draining down and can't use your size advantage b/c you're dehydrated, then it's a dumb strategy! Go to 168!

Every loser has issues and excuses ready. Had he won, it would have been....

Everyone seems to be gravitating towards the super middleweight division. Canelo won a bogus belt there. GGG is dipping his toe in at SM in his next fight. BJS is fighting for a bogus belt at SM in his next fight. If Jacobs throws his name in the hat, along with all the guys already there, and SM is looking like it could be one of the best divisions in boxing over the next couple years.
