Danny is a really good dude and very solid fighter. He's just not THAT good. Good enough to compete with the top dogs but also won't look all that great against fighters like Sulecki and Derevyanchenko. One flaw is he has some confidence issues that make him start slow. Once he realizes he can hang and the opponent isn't a monster, then he eases himself back in the fight and makes it competitive.

Switch southpaw got him KD against GGG, so not sure why he was doing it here. He has a massive physical advantage over his opponents but he fights too scared IMHO.
I think this is the correct answer. he has what it takes, he can counter, he has the power and speed, but he just lacks the balls to really commit, at the top level it costs him. Besides that huge flaw, he has serious stamina issues for a fighter that barely fights at all, and that might also be a case of mental strain from being worried about getting ko'd or w/e in the ring.

As far as inside the ring...... He's not very smart at all either. Why is he obsessed with switching southpaw when he isn't very good at it? Why is he unaware of the moment? He shows flashes and then he disappears. He fights like he's a high IQ fighter but he's not.

I know there are things he does against other fighters he couldn't do against GGG & Canelo. But in both fights it seems like he was content doing just enough to keep it close.

I thought the judges overcompensated due to the scrutiny they've received about Canelo scorecards. The fight wasn't as close as the scorecards indicated.
Jacobs isn't a dumb fighter. He tried everything and it didn't work. He can't make 160 and be who he is anymore. He should go to 168. He's over 30 and too big for MW. I give credit to Canelo because his head movement offset everything Jacobs tried. Canelo did enough to win the fight on my card 7-5. He clearly won the fight. I don't think that Jacobs fought a dumb fight. He didn't jab enough to start his attack.

I said it before the purse bid. But when the fight was ordered it was GGG team who kept delaying. And after the fight it was GGG team who didn't want to give him a deserved rematch.

You don't remember everything I post. I just had to correct you about another one of my posts yesterday. You only remember what you want to remember

He looked great against Derevyanchenko. He looked unmotivated against Sulecki.

I agree with the confidence issues. He don't have that dog in him

KTFO changed my opinion. It's confidence issues. He doesn't have the confidence to get started early. Once he has some success he fights like we know he can fight. He doesn't have that dog in him

He looked great in spurts but overall looked just solid. Derevyanchenko ended up making it very competitive.

Jacobs is that type of dude that needs to first convince himself he belongs before he fights to his potential. If not, then he fights a bit hesitant and ends up giving big parts of the fight away. The Pirog loss has overstated just how weak of a chin he has, but you can't convince me it hasn't messed with him mentally. Think about it, at no point vs GGG or Canelo was he ever on shaky legs or clearly hurt, yet he fought so conservative early on in both fights. This is the type of kid that needs his mom or dad to check under his bed to make sure boogeyman isn't there before he goes to sleep lmao.
