1st one was close. No argument from me if they gave it to GGG. When so called fight fans say GGG won not only the 1st fight, but the 2nd, EASILY.....they're not really fight fans.
I never said he won the second easily. I thought the first fight was a clear win. Canelo won 4 rounds max.

I thought GGG edged the second fight by picking up a lot of the later rounds. A draw would be fine. No way Canelo won 7 rounds when you re-watch it and actually count it properly.

Both fights were competitive. No doubt. But Canelo certainly got favourable decisions, especially in the first fight. That was not a draw.

Posting pics of facial damage means nothing. Ricky Hatton and Groves could knock opponents out in 3 rounds and come out looking worse. Some guys mark up a lot easier than others.

So whoever the next trainer is it has to be someone who will be willing to accept that amount. I don't see a prominent guy like Freddie Roach or Robert Garcia being the choice.
If GGG was overpaying Abel I can see how GGG is being smarter now like most guys making 8 digits a fight & how Abel isn't seeing it worth it anymore. No bad guy. No cheapness.

And any trainer expecting 10% for 10M+ paydays is a lil nuts imo. Most trainers are f#cking ecstatic at getting $200k, $300k. Trainers take up 2-4hrs of their day for 6 to 8 weeks. They can train multiple guys while training their star. A fighter is only fighting once for one payday during that time. Giving a trainer $1M to $1.5M for that time is nuts.

With the money Freddie & Robert make now with their current guys (minus Manny for Freddie) making 200k for 2hrs x 42 - 56 days is a nice W for them.

Yeah and after the trainer gets Golovkin straightened out he can teach Canelo how to slip a jab without using his face..

Did you read the Daily Bread column today?

Stephen Edwards talks about this issue. How 10% for a trainer is typical and that there is no way Abel would be expected to go from that to 2%.

Also says Abel was willing to compromise and take 4%.

DAZN is just wasting their millions of dollars on this guy. He and his side kick Loeffler are so focused on Canelo that they're only fighting bums until they get it. Fans don't need to see showcase fights. Waste of time. So GGG and Charlo beat their bum opponents. So what?

Yea for 99% of fighters it is typical. When guys are making 8 digits its not. Steve Kim was talking about this at length on his podcast & he said the only big draw in boxing not paying a fee & still paying 10% that he's aware of is Canelo with the Reynoso's. And ultimately they are two guys so they are getting 5% each.
