I mean if a guy is swinging and missing wildly, constantly, I may give the other guy some credit for that. But very rarely does that happen - the only image in my mind where that happened recently was the one shot Lemieux tried on Saunders. And even then that was just one shot.I see you don't take in account misses and completely IGNORE body work SMH... It's your scorecard! Give GGG all 12 rounds???? Throw in rounds 13 and 14 as well....I have never seen someone COMPLETELY ignore Defense like you do????
We get it no matter how many times GGG/Canelo fight GGG is ALWAYS goona come out ahead on your cards.
And it's about damage man, if I hit you 100 times but miss 100 times, and you hit me twice and miss once. Well I am obviously winning, unless there were any KOs there. Some of the good shots I referenced earlier for Canelo were body shots I believe, so I definitley factor those in when scoring a round.
Honestly before the second fight I pretty much had it 50/50, but then when I watched the fight I saw 5 clear rounds for GGG and 7 close rounds. So I didn't let my prior opinions shape my opinion of the actual fight.
The truth is that as long as GGG isn't completely gun-shy, he will probably always be hard to win clear rounds against, which will make him hard to beat. His jab/workrate/stamina just lead to him constantly scoring round in and round out, throughout the fight.
He can still be beat - he could get hurt by a shot and KD, or even KOd. He could get slowed down by some good shots which would affect his workrate. If someone dances around effectively on him for 12 rounds they may do enough that way as well.
I just haven't seen it happen yet. I mean you have a fight where he outlanded Jacobs by 56 punches, and in 9/11 rounds, in the fight and some people really try and say Jacobs won that fight lol. If the punch stats were reversed in these fights (meaning Jacobs did what GGG did, and vice versa), all the people who have those as close fights, or have GGG losing now, would all of a sudden have GGG losing 10-2. I think that says it all.Comment

danny u might not be too popular here thinking ggg beat canelo twice!! ^^
his thinking seems a bit clouded, he thinks the judges he has got, who are the same 3 who gave canelo the win v ggg last time out, will be fair to him, even tho he thinks they made a mistake last time out..... hhhmmm
if danny thinks getting a decision v ggg was tough wait till he fights canelo ^^Comment

I have the same sense as you what's the purpose of this article? but am not at all surprised Keith I**** (misspell on purpose) did a similar article last year in the rematch vs GGG, he wrote along the same lines that Judges should be aware that media and boxing fans were aware of their scoring, therefore the should be fair the second time around. The scoring by these judges in Canelo-GGG II was perfectly fair. GGG's own trainer denied the controversy and accepted the decision and Jacobs himself said he sees no controversy. So I'm not sure what's the purpose of this lecture unless you're trying to pressure them into scoring it in Jacob's favor in a close fight. A lot of people conveniently overlook that Canelo consistently outlands opponents in power punches along with his body work. Judges sitting at ringside can better appreciate the quality of his work than those who insist power punches should be scored equal to an opponent's jab (but only when those power punches are delivered by Canelo).
I think he is running out of new stories to write, and he washes of rinses, and repeat. Clearly a Canelo Hater.Last edited by whoseyourdaddy; 05-03-2019, 02:28 PM.Comment

Nice points! Yea I think part of problem with this streaming service is the average age of boxing fans which is older then most sports.Lets face it boxing has not done a good job of bringing in new fans mostly due to price to be a fan.Hard core fans will pay to watch fights but its hard to convince someone who is somewhat new to sport to kick in the type of money it takes to REALLY cover sport.I know DAZN is a good deal but if you don't have the younger more tech savvy fans already its hard to get the word out. Also although DAZN is a good deal they only have so many fights/fighters and to watch the others its still PPV and SHOWTIME.They have a very good chance to draw young fans with FOX but the fights or at least the matchups have not been good.A young guy at the gym today asked me how to watch the Canelo fight. I told him about the app and the subscription options. His eyes glazed over and he said, "Hopefully they'll have it playing at a bar."
Though people on this site are more inclined to be tech savvy, I think most boxing fans are not and people are really put off by subscriptions. Not sure how dazn is going to be able to hold up in a sport that isn't exactly a river of money.Comment

I got a funny feeling with all the press about "Canelo judging" we might see Jacobs getting the dec if its at all close which I believe it will be.I know that goes against the past and also the tradition of big money fighters always getting the benefit of doubt, but I just have a funny feeling on this.Comment
