Doesn't he mean Canelo gained confidence in corrupt judging?Originally posted by komandante View PostCanelo did not beat GGG it was a rub-out x2.
Canelo did NOT win the 1st fight. That fight was correctly scored a draw. YES, Byrd's card was a disgrace and obviously corrupt. However, the fight was nonetheless rightly scored a draw. The only other plausible score was 7-5 GGG.
The rematch very well could've been scored a DRAW or 7-5 for Canelo. GGG definitively did NOT win 7 rounds in the 2nd fight just like Canelo did NOT win 7 rounds in the first fight.
If you want to say the scores are 12-12 after 24 rounds you can, but the official scores are 6-6 and 7-5. And those scores are fine...even if they hurt your feelings.
No matter how you personally scored the fights both Canelo and GGG are evenly matched.
A shame both fights didn't happen sooner. One can cry about Canelo forfeiting his belt or GGG refusing catchweights and/or refusing to come to America until he was 30 years old. In any case we're left with what happened.
I'm happy we got to see both fights and am hopeful we'll get a trilogy.

This may well be a sticking point in negotiations with GGG for a third fight; GGG will most likely refuse to fight Canelo in Vegas again and Canelo will surely resist leaving the city where he begins each fight up 2-3 rounds on the cards.
