...so? Heaven forbid the guy actually wants his name spelled the correct way.
A more interesting matter is why do we have to call Gervonta Davis Ger-von-tae when it's clearly Ger-von-ta...? We can't just pronounce words however we choose. Language has rules and if you (meaning whichever parent filled out his birth certificate) misspell your kid's name... tough. You don't get to make the rest of us sound illiterate just because you are.
As an aside, if anything has changed Golovkin's attitude in recent times, it's twice being the victim of the ongoing corruption in this business we sometimes like to call a sport.

Proper spelling and all. One wanted her name pronounced "Dan-Nell".
So the other Danielle called her "Dumb as hell, Dan-nell."
