Is Dazn bad at promoting fights?

Maybe they need to spend a little more on promoting and advertising fights than overpaying the fighters
Ive literally havent seen anything about this fight outside of boxing websites and my YouTube timeline
This might be worse that the crawford khan fight as far as marketing a fight goes. The fight is 2 days away with 2 of the top 3 middleweights. Literslly no one at my job had a clue this fight is happening smh

I think Dazn is to blame for this.
If this was on hbo the advertisement would be much great. Especially showing commericals after and before Game of thrones

    Just my 2 cents

They have been showing commercials during basketball games. I don't know if either has shown up to ESPN or Fox Sports headquarters, but have seen commercials for sure. I just tend to think most of DAZN's commercials are kind of trash, but to each its own. As for the lack of promotion? Are you saying that because there aren't three or four episodes of 24/7? They do have their own 40 days series on DAZN and it was aired on NBC last week I believe.

There’s a big billboard here where I live of Canelo vs. Jacobs. A lot of my caucasian buddies are talking about this fight like if it’s UFC. DAZN is doing an amazing job. Can’t wait for this weekend. Calling out tomorrow to prep the food. Gonna be a big 5 de Mayo weekend.

You must be a vet... not an animal vet, but an old timer..

do realize that most industry, even guys like Al Bernstein, SRL, or Foreman, old guys, USE SOCIAL Media..

DAZN has invested in algorithms to promote the fight Twitter and Instagram foremost. It's cost effective and it works. Anybody that is following Ryan Garcia or any GBP fighter is cue'd to get notifications and prioritized news for Canelo Jacobs whenever they pop back on Twitter or Instagram. If someone likes something, it's reciprocated to another whom most likely follows boxing. The future is social media algorithms for sales theory. If Cousin Jose sees and likes the Canelo Jacobs popup on Twitter or Instagram then his connections will see it too. Chances are they are Hispanic..

Welcome to the new ERA! This is isn't HBO 10 years ago where your theories are based on episode productions for cable subscribers.

I think they have a huge job - but everyone gets over excited or over-critical about every little thing when it comes to Hearn or DAZN. Fact is it's a pretty unique service as its streaming only and not linked to a network, so I think there marketing is 2 fold, they need to promote the fights and the app/service continously...I think they are doing the right thing by throwing money at fighters, there is only so much marketing can do, more money isn't always better, but you most def need the product.

Lots of people are gettimg the message, many not. At some point casuals will prob wonder why they haven't seen a Canelo fight for a while and come across DAZN in that way. It's very much a long term project though, I think they plan to get rights fees to other sports when they are up for renewal which will help. But it will be curious to know how many one off subscribers they start getting for really big fights at $20 say 2 years from now when you'd expect a lot more people to know about it.

I think they do a good job online marketing wise. And the average person spends more time online than watching tv so I think that's what they are focused on.

A lot of Anti-DAZN shillers don't understand business. First and foremost, if one country doesn't have the best sales in Netflix, it's not like Netflix is going to discriminate that country's social economic structure. There's plenty of enough revenue provided from all markets that will support the allocation or budget for that country. Or take a like Panasonic, they have markets in almost every country, and the ones with the least expected sales are able to be standardized because the general GLOBAL market of Panasonic sales provides it. That's how you run a business.

The things is the USA is the most RELIABLE consumer based country in the world. All these LDBC and PBC or ESPN shillers or anti-DAZN peeps are afraid of DAZN's potential because they know it will succeed.

When DAZN launches in Brazil, which I believe was supposed to be in May, it has a huge culture for football and MMA. Not saying the sales in South America will justify or need to help North America, but as you said, slowly.

DAZN plans to be a Global platform. We are in a new era where boxers of the past wish they had this new type of distribution for their own hype. That's technology for you. Just like forum members here from around the world talking boxing, the future is interactive sports events. For examples DAZN watchers being able to interact with fans around the world in realtime. That's the future. Anybody remember America Online in the 90s where chatroom categories had to be multiplied because there were too many people? There'll be functions like this in the future for sporting events when you've got subscriber bases as big as Netflix at 140million.

I'm getting a bunch of notification for news about this fight, and I'm not subscribed to anything, I don't follow anything...I'm not on fb or twitter or any other social media. not sure wtf is going on. must have something to do with what sites I visit or what videos I watch I guess. I always get notifications about boxing stuff.
