    Whats superior Kicking or Punching?

Here is one of the greatest punchers and boxers of all time up there with the likes of Lewis Tyson and Ali.

    VS

An unknown small white man that has kicks.

    WINNER = KICKS

Serious question does a good* kicker beat a good puncher? (not talking TKD stuff its fairly obvious from footage that boxing is superior)

Im talking a GOOD kicker that kicks in the muay thai style, push kicks low round kicks, etc or maybe a sanda kicker.

So they only use kicks no punches and the boxer only uses punches.

Who usually has the best chance and why?

    Muay Thai FTW?

Since the thai fighter knows how to deal with punches defense wise let the boxer be able to defend low kicks etc for this theoretical question.

So the boxer has as good a kick defense as the kicker has punch defense

I think people mistakenly right off kicking vs punching after watching fairy ass TKD and traditional arts get KOTFO by boxers but I bet the Thai boxers who like to stay in kicking range and then clinch up for safety as you get into boxing range are a different story

(just because TKD specializes in kicks doesn't mean they have the best kickers, thai boxing specializes in mastering the highest % kicks to a much greater degree and conditions better, kicks to the legs, has a solid non chambered round kick which has better power mechanics etc)

Both boxers and kickers can clinch for safety

yeah a kickboxer can maintain the distance and destroy a boxer's legs. This was evident during the earliest UFCs, although they were far from being the best at their styles, fighters with some kickboxing skills kicked the hell out of guys who only knew how to throw punches.

Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier are the last 2 UFC champs. Neither of them kick.

once you learn kicking defense, on an even plane, boxing is still more important.

I would rather know how to punch than kick.
Its better fun to knock someone out with your fists than it is to kick them.

Jon Jones got pieced up by white boy his height who didn't kick and had to resort to wrestling to win the rematch.

cormier is also like 5'9. jon jones had so much reach on him. and in the rematch he was 39. way out of prime. first fight was close tho with just cormier's boxing.

Defending kicks is not just a simple thing to do, and you still take damage. Also, the reason a lot of mma fighters avoid kicking is because of takedown vulnerability. If there was no grappling involved, we’d see a lot more kicks. All things equal, I also think hands are more important in mma, but a decent kickboxer will trash a boxer 9 times out of 10. Even McNugget would have beat Floyd easy if kicks were allowed.

Kicking is usually an offensive weapon. Punching can deflect as well. Most fights end with a punch.

Slapping. It is both a physical and emotional assault.
