Some thought Jacobs beat G, but they only labeled Canelo vs G controversial.

I think there are some obvious reasons:

1) Most people don't think Jacobs won the fight, most people DO think GGG won the first fight with Canelo.

2) GGG outlanded Jacobs, put him on the canvas, and was the general aggressor against Jacobs (so most people see that as a reason he won), Canelo had none of those in his first fight with GGG

3) GGG isnt really backed by a powerful promoter who can more easily sway a decision in his way.

4) Byrd's score card was so wild.

You don't have to agree with these, but these are the reasons why most people don't view GGG Jacobs as a controversy but do view GGG Canelo I as one.

Oh I hate that pre-fight hype statement. How about no, let's wait to see wtf happens, and then we'll determine that. I also heard that too many times before GGG-Canelo. I watched once and I was done. Same with the rematch.

Agreed!

That second fight was great. Both guys threw vicious shots and fought at a very high skill level. Both guys had to withstand brutal punishment. I'm not sure any of the other middleweights could have survived a fight with Canelo or Golovkin with the ferocity that they displayed that night.

Yes but perhaps for all the wrong reasons. If it goes twelve, and Jacobs appears to have banked enough rounds then Canelo gets the Adalaide Byrd special, I hope the fans bumrush the ring and beat everyone responsible for another robbery.
