I thought I might see more online but I am a subscriber so maybe they are targeting those who like boxing but dont subscribe. I don't know
I haven't noticed any high profile tv networks buys, (you'd think the nba playoffs or other sporting events would be perfect for this).
I agree it's a bit low key but maybe they figure their audience already knows and are afraid to spend the big bucks for the additional people they get. It might not be economically feasible.
canelo fans know its happening, and they know where to watch it, jacobs fans arent many but he still a solid b side enough to bring attention from most mexicans and mexican americans... there will be lots of beer and carne asada and boxing this weeken, make no mistake...

They been running commercials all day specifically during the NBA Playoffs. I just finished watching the Bucks/Celtics and now the Warriors/Rockets game and I've seen the Canelo vs Jacobs DAZN commercial too many times to count. But most of the commercials I saw last week were the ones with Tracy Morgan blowing stuff up telling you to subscribe to DAZN lol
There is plenty of buzz but I think the advertisement is just different because they aren't selling a PPV they are selling a subscription. For example I have seen more online advertisements, advertisements in different apps I use for DAZN then any other Canelo PPV fight when he was with HBO. But I have seen less commercials specifically saying Canelo vs Jacobs then past Canelo fights, HBO would just run tons of buy this PPV commercials. It's a different approach more then anything similar to how Netflix advertises. It's more broad because it's about a subscription then Netflix just throwing ads for 1 specific new movie or TV show.
I didn't even remember until I saw this thread. Definitely no hype. My Mexican friends aren't having their usual boxing parties. Friends who call me about the fights haven't said anything about this weekend. I don't know if DAZN just has bad promotion or if the Canelo hype is fading but this seems like the lease important Cinco in years.

Honestly, I have been watching playoffs internittently and for me it's Tracy Morgan all day all night and no dazn
That;s good they are putting it on. Don't know why I haven't seen them but I have been flipping a lot.
why??? i dont feel the fight week buzz, i dont see the commercials all on my tv. It honestly forgot the fight was this weekend. Where is all the promotion?
How has it felt in the past?
Surely you must be more excited this year considering you got Canelo/Jacobs fight coming up.
I've seen commercials for the fight during the NBA playoffs, but I'm with you on the buzz part. Normally I'd be planning my whole weekend around the fight on Cinco De Mayo. Last year I obviously didn't GAF, but I cared about Canelo vs Chavez Jr. And I cared about every Mayweather fight before then.
I care a lot about Canelo vs Jacobs, but I don't get much of that sense from anywhere else. DAZN will keep a niche sport even more niche.
