Wilder vs Fury had neutral officials. None of the judges were from the US. One of the judges was from the UK.

40% of ringside experts scored the fight a draw. 40% scored the fight for Fury. 20% scored the fight for Wilder.

Which means 60% didn't have Fury winning. A draw was the appropriate result. To call it a robbery is ludicrous.

Since when is nationality a sufficient basis for calling someone neutral (unless they’re Swiss)? I hate to say, but you’re coming across as painfully naive.

And refuting the opinion of a huge swathe of people on the basis of the opinions of various percentages of an undisclosed group of “ringside experts” comes across as a seriously weak argument as well.

Let’s remember that even BoxingEgo, a dyed in the wool Wilder fan, scored the fight for Fury in a live interview with Eddie Hearn because he didn’t know how to score rounds. Like you, he was trying to argue that a draw was a fair result. Unfortunately he miscalculated and made himself look like an idiot and I’m doing so furthered the widely held view that Fury won that fight.

An awful lot of people saw a robbery that night. You can call it “ludicrous” if you want, but it’s hardly an unfounded viewpoint. I have never seen a credible argument for a Wilder win in that fight and hometown draws in favour of the champion..? Yeah, they always seem more than a little fishy to me: “Ooh look, the belts stay at home with us; how convenient”

Here’s another general point to bear in mind for future:
When you get a fighter’s most ardent fans arguing for a draw; its a pretty good indication that their guy lost.

Except for the fact that a huge portion of ringside experts scored the fight a draw as well. Yes, very few people scored the fight for Wilder, but Wilder didn't win the fight. So who cares? The fight was scored a draw and a ton of the most respected experts scored the fight a draw as well.

My man, as anyone who’s ever done a serious piece of academic writing will tell you, if you base an argument on a source (like “ringside experts”) you have to demonstrate why that source is credible if you want your argument to be strong.

Whilst it is good to get some authority to back up your points, citing sources without demonstrating why they’re credible only serves to weaken your argument.

Who were these experts? Can you provide a link to the source which you’re using?

Fury not PBC though, whereas Ortiz, Brezeale, Kownacki are. PBC keeping it inhouse just like the welters. PBC still got Charles Martin, Arreola, Gerald Washington, Rivas, Spilka and a few others, so enough to keep things going for a while.

Top Rank and Matchroom seem to be working together (Loma/Crolla, Joshua/Ruiz, Crawford/Khan, talk of Loma/Campbell etc), so I'm betting Fury and Joshua more likely to get made - the only fight I could see Hearn agreeing to 50/50 for.
