Wilder and his team are something else!

Remember all the shit they threw at AJ and Hearn when Barry Hearn said the fight would be best left till 2020?

"Liars! Cowards! Duckers ... blah, blah, blah ..."

But things moved on faster than anybody expected in the HW division, and now the world can see these con men for what they really are.

Even if this is true why would you ever say this out loud to the media or fans? Lmao

Basically admitting it was never about the money or the offer. Haymon don't want to make this fight and lose control of Wilder fights. Wants him fighting on networks he controls even if his own fighter makes less money. But to say this bluntly only makes Wilder look bad and is a horrible selling point for his next fight. A fight nobody cares about and isn't selling to the point his tickets are now on Groupon. But now instead of saying hey come see our guy fight maybe he fighting Joshua next. You saying don't bother seeing our guy fight and he's not fighting Joshua after that either. So might as well just ignore Wilder until maybe 2020 because he has no intention of fighting Joshua or fury despite both guys offering more guaranteed money on networks outside of PBC.

Earning 7 figures probably makes them complacent about money and they won’t want to fight eachother until they can make 9 figures, or guaranteed high 8 figures.
I don't like it but I understand the mentality. Make a lot doing easy jobs, then later on cash out. Why disrupt the easy gravy train until you are basically forced to.

Boxing really isn't a sport in any sense but physically.

It’s like me, i’d like a higher salary sure, but not just $10k or $20k more than i’m making.

You got Hearn turning down $50mill after Joshua asked for it, then asked to verify it, and it was verified as a real offer, and still turned it down cause they feel the risk of Joshua getting KO’ed for $50mill isn’t worth it. They probably want 5 “easier” fights of making $20 mill each fight before fighting Wilder. In 5 fights Joshua can make $100mill. So why risk one big KO loss for $50mill?

I hate it as a fan but I understand it when I use common sense.

And then Wilder and his team changed their minds and now probably are gonna wait til the fight reaches 9 figures and will just stay with Showtime having “easy” fights there.

Again I get proven right, PBC is utter trash and they ruin the sport of boxing more and more. Wilder a protected muppet. AJ out there wanting to unify and PBC is boycotting the fight. Spence went very quickly from boogeyman to a drunk coward who is running scared from another great fight in Crawford and rather faces guys in predictable mismatches. Tank Davis ducking everyone in his own weight class, only fighting inhouse featherweights.

Goddamnit would boxing be better if the PBC and Haymon were finally leaving the sport.

Breazeale, Kownacki, and then fury....sounds good to me. Fight party after fight party. Might make the fury ppv a pool party fight party at that.

They're hoping to teach Wilder some boxing basics in at least next 3 fights. During Fury fight, they realized that Wilder's got no chance against someone like Joshua. Haymon just can't afford to lose the last HW belt.

Fight Dillian Whyte next (if he wins) and let Ortiz face Kownacki!

Oh, you mean the time when Hearn asked to see a draft contract like any sane person would and was told he had to accept an offer within 24 hours when he didn't know the terms?

And then when he asked for a meeting was told that it would "unproductive"?

Dude....I don't want to come across harsh here, but just take 15 seconds and ask yourself why anyone who seriously wanted to enter into a contract would impose an artificial 24 hour deadline and refuse to even bother to pick up the phone to talk about terms.

If you were going to enter into a genuine offer in good faith then why would you actively AVOID meeting with the other party to the contract and put an artificial deadline on the deal. It makes ZERO sense in any walk of life.

Now put that shadiness into the context of what we know now, with Wilder turning down $100m, this statement from Finkel, Luis Ortiz also mysteriously ducking his way out of the AJ fight like Haymon got his balls in a vice.

Wilder's position hasn't been particularly easy to defend from the outset, but since the DAZN offer got turned down it's damn-near impossible not to see that it's Wilder's side who don't want this fight. The more time goes by the more obvious it becomes to anyone who's being even remotely objective.

Finkel knows FULL WELL how this statement is going to play out with the fans. He knows it's going to look awful but he makes the statement anyway. Seems to me it's because he wants to try to soften the blow ahead of time for the moment when Wilder ducks Joshua again after Breazeale is out of the way.

                      We've all heard the rumours.

                      Breazeale
                      Ortiz
                      Kownacki

is supposedly Wilder's next three fights and I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if that's what we see. If that's not holding the belt hostage then what is?
