He went into the biggest puncher in boxing history's backyard despite not being fit. I think he's entitled to a tune up after a brilliant performance. 90% of boxing "experts" on here expected Fury to get blasted within a few rounds.

At the end of the day, Fury has been in the ring against two legit champions one of whom was/is unbeaten, and the other had barely lost a round in 12 years, in their backyard. Give me a shout when Joshua/Wilder does the same.

Perhaps it's just the freak-show factor. He's big, he's agile, and a trash talker. He's a sideshow attraction. I've always felt he is overrated (I say the same of Wilder and AJ too), but this is what we have at the top of the heap in the HW division today, and because they are all hype-jobs, they are evenly matched hype-jobs, so their fights will be competitive.

Fury himself said he only gets motivated when he feels the majority thinks he can't win ,and needs extra incentives to win. This is why he'll never be an ATG bc they don't do that , they go after top guys and stay fit all the time trying to defend titles.

Titles being the key word bc he has none so he'll take a few easy fights again to get back in the rhythm of things, he didn't have to fight Wilder but did only cause he knew he couldn't beat Joshua at least at that point so does he get a pass?

Not really it's just fans should know by now he isn't going to strive to be anything great for long periods and he has Wilder himself on his resume you can put in the win column , if he was a champion he wouldn't be able to fight such poor opponents overall.

In 2 of his last 4 fights he fought Wlad and Wilder. Yeah there was a 2 year absence between and his comeback opponents were fine considering the situation. He jumped right in with Wilder once he was relatively in shape though.

Tell me a heavyweight who has fought two fighters like Wilder and Wlad in their last 4 fights, beating both of them (robbed once). That was a dominant champ Wlad too, Fury chased the fight. Not the older inactive one AJ got.

His next opponent isn't great obviously but i don't see how anyone can question his willingness to take tough fights.

Even before he beat Wlad, you have to remember the HW scene was pretty dead. He fought most that were available at the time like Chisora, Johnson, Cunningham, signed to fight Haye etc. You have to remember this is before guys like Ortiz, Whyte, Parker etc. were really on the scene.

If there's one top heavyweight that i trust would sign to take on the other top fighters, it's Fury. It's proven that he will.

In the Klitschko fight he did very well but if ever there was an example of 'styles make fights' that is the one boxing heads should point to.
Klitschko was usually the bigger man ad fought at distance and leaned in and on opponents sapping their energy, amd then knocking them out - which precisely what Fury did to McDermott, Cunningham and others. Add in the fact that WK was super lethargic that night and Fury got his shock.
But let's not make him into this defensive genius giant Mayweather. He has been dropped by several dudes now, none of them very good, and is there for taking by a guy like AJ who wont be leaned on, won't sleep through rounds like Klitschko did, and is a finisher.
So....we have Fury still dining off of his WK win and the good performance against Wilder, and nobody blinks an eye when he fights utter bums. WTF! For a guy who has a following, a massive contract, and is supposedly a 'king' I'd like to see some Parker, Ortiz, Whyte types in there with him.
What I'd really like to see is him fight AJ at Wembley, but I can't get my head around the ****e he fights, and the fact nobody seems arsed.
EVERYBODY else does so why not?

Fury is being managed well, the bloke has a very suspect chin and even the poorest of top 20 Heavies could take him out at anytime if they land a half decent clean shot and blow a massive hole in his future earnings. Its likely he is a KO waiting to happen and when he meets a hungry fighter with a little guile as well a bit of power i suspect he will be in trouble, Wilder was perfect for him with his novice skills and telegraphed shots others wont make it so easy for him. I like Fury he is good entertainment, but i dont see him lasting more than 4 rounds with Joshua. Until that fight gets signed he might as well fight some limited opposition and make a nice little earner.

When you're a champion you should have higher expectations.

Even though Fury fought well against Wilder, he's just a highly ranked contender unfortunately.
He calls himself a champion, his fans call him a champion so we should hold him to champion standards imo.

Sensible people know that but Fury fans aren't sensible.
