Comments Thread For: Michael Hunter: I'm Still Training Like I'm Fighting Joshua

From the moment he heard his name mentioned, Michael Hunter didn't waste any time to ask if he was really in contention or just being used as bait. If there was a real chance to face Anthony Joshua, he wanted to make sure he was the first to apply for the job.

I could see Hunter-Bryan being made for the Joshua undercard if neither gets announced as his opponent. As much as it's the Joshua show, it's in New York so definitely needs an abundance of American flavour.

Am I the only one who think Ruiz get it because of the Mexican fan base. Yes Ruiz has like 400 people on his twitter but Mexican fans will get behind him. I actually out of the 2 would have like to see Hunter get the shot. Pretty poor card this.

Eddie Hearn.. what on earth is all this crap? Why don't you just go back to the UK and fight? All this AJ American debut non sense.. Nobody cares about this fight over here.. it makes more sense to just fight somebody like Whyte in England.. refund those U.K fans their money back u greedy slimeball.. lol.

"Andy Ruiz will go on to challenge the unbeaten Joshua for his slew of heavyweight titles, taking the place of Miller who was removed from the fold after testing positive for an array of banned substances."

Is this a done deal? Didn't Al Haymon block Ruiz from fighting Joshua?

Every article I can find says much the same thing that terms agreed but 'yet to be finalised' - so sounds like finishing up the paperwork, but not signed off yet.

Eddie's pretty much referring to it as the fight now. Doesn't seem to be too much doubt. Just waiting for the announcement.

Hunter has a good attitude. I feel bad for him having the Takam fight, the Povetkin fight and now the Joshua fight get away from him. I hope Eddie can get him somebody decent at this point.

I'd like to see aj vs a very good opponent. Klitscho was great, but not in his prime anymore. Same for Povetkin. Ortiz would be good. Kownacki and Hrgovich, too.
