Golovkin will fight for the first time June 8 since suffering the first defeat of his career a debatable majority decision to rival Canelo Alvarez in their middleweight championship rematch September 15 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Vanes was a cherry-pick to avoid better fighters

no stay-busy fight was required at that point, Golovkin had a full camp

Golovkin could have chased his " dream " with Saunders..... or he could have fought his mando Derevyanchenko..... either of those selections would mean that Golovkin would not be stripped by the IBF

Golovkin fans are getting hammered because they have been making those silly excuses for him for YEARS

Golovkin did what he has ALWAYS done in that situation..... he picked a no-hoper to guarantee him an easy fight

          nothing changed

I don't blame a 37 year old GGG for taking an easy stay busy fight.

He should only be fighting these or Canelo type fights at this stage in his career.

If he was 32/33, I'd criticize, but not here.

Golovkin has been doing this for YEARS

when were his fans EVER going to criticize Gennady's poor opponent selection?

Golovkin is continuing to select NO-HOPER opponents, because his fans keep watching

props to you for tuning out

Fans need to CHILL OUT on GGG:

This is just a comeback fight, to get him ready for a stay busy fight, that's gonna prepare him for a tune-up fight.

He just needs to do that twice in a row , then his 6 fight deal with DAZN will be over and he'll become the hottest free agent in all of boxing.
