I totally agree. The notion that Spence is scared is dumb and frankly the thoughts of very shallow thinkers. Boxing is an unforgiving sport. These guys on here neglect to see through the lens of a confident professional fighter of the new era. Why go through the hassle and fight Crawford now if clearly he has huge fights that can be made right now.

Spence truly believes he will beat everyone at 147, but his advisors know that if he fights Crawford next, he has no leverage and after he beats him...subsequent fights with Porter, Garcia, and Thurman won’t have the same hype and thus revenue.

If he fights Garcia, Thurman, Pac, and Porter...he will make bank, build his name, gather fans (through exciting fights), and gather BELTS. Then when he goes to fight Crawford, who undoubtedly will not have the level of opposition as the PBC fighters, he will end his WW career with dethroning the P4P.

Why peak too early with a fight against Crawford now? When you have huge paydays right in your face. In the end, Spence will be stacking belts and Crawford will be looking desperately for decent opposition.

In the end, Spence can have and get great experience and money....and then when Arum realizes he’s in a lose lose situation...Spence will be the A side. Ask Canelo what that means in the sport in today’s day and age.

The great boxing virtuoso Shawn Porter. You didnt see that performance against Ugas where he showed us his mastery of boxerobics?

Almost every boxer would have that experience if they always fought the best - like Oscar did - every time out.

Canelo is doing the same thing Oscar did and hes having a hair more success so far...he needs another 2-3 years of fighting the best competition before we can truly compare great career with a HOF and fringe ATG like DLH

        • Arum needs to offer Danny Garcia about 4 or 5 million for a PPV fight with Spence. Garcia has nothing going on because the champions are gonna fight each other next on his side of the street. He will probably turn it down and make an excuse anyway but make the offer to show you want to do buisness with Haymon on good terms. Who knows, maybe Garcia will take the money unlike all the other PBC guys lately.

          • This Spence clown doesn't get it.

This is boxing. Where the best supposed to be fighting the best. Doesn't matter what street you're in. Otherwise, you need to stop watching fights that are on the other side of the street. They are all irrelevant to you. Just keep watching PBC fights doe.

This is an individual sport, not a in-house sport.

So Spence has no heart and doesn’t want to fight the best? Boxers of new are thinking about life after boxing. In this present climate, one loss and you will never be looked at the same again. So why not make smart moves in and outside the ring. I’m just as frustrated as anyone else at not having the privilege to see that fight now, but I know that Spence is playing chess both in and out the ring. Has nothing to do with fear or clout chasing. When he’s 50yrs old and stammering and struggling to speak like a lot of prizefighters do, at least he knows that he made the right moves to secure his family for generations and generations. Too many fighters of old just fought and fought and were left with nothing at the end of their career.

New age boxers are balancing an extremely violent career with business. Just like every other top athlete in every other sport. Has nothing to do with guts and heart.

If Mosley wasn't too busy shooting up steroids he wouldn't have beaten Oscar. Floyd was like 28 in his prime and he barely beat Oscar who was a 34 year old drug addict at the time. You have no idea what you are talking about.
