He’s been extremely lucky, that’s it. In fact I think it’s kind of su****ious and I can’t help but wonder if there’s some kind of game being played here.

Comeback of the year if he wins the tourney!
A Donaire vs Inoue fight would be huge in the Far East !
Donaire just has to land a perfect left hook and he could knockout Inoue who were not sure how good his chin is!Comment

Donaire's been fortunate with the lineup he's faced in the WBSS, but he still did what he needs to do to get to the final. Props to the 36 year old for doing it on the downside of his career.Comment

People are criticizing Donaire's last win because it was a last minute replacement but it goes both ways. Neither guy was prepared for the other. They didn't train to face each other which brings an x factor to the bout. The fact that Donair has made it this far is impressive at his age and the division that he's competing in. Keep in mind that 36 is really old at the lighter weights. If Pacquiao is considered old at 147 imagine being 36 and competing at 118. That's insane in of itself. Donaire has looked smarter in the ring. He doesn't use his legs or blazing hand speed like he used to, but he's methodical and precise in his approach. He's a smart veteran fighter. Now, if he gets past Inoue that would be a monumental accomplishment in my opinion.Comment

Bottom line is if he wins the tournament, it doesnt matter how he got there from the prior two fights because he would be beating the top guy of the tournament in Inoue or Rodriguez. He was coming on strong in his first fight when the dude got an injury and was ready to fight Tete who pulled out of the second fight. If he wins the final, he deserved it. If he loses, he lost to the best fighter in the tournament, both of which are fairplay.Comment

I was so sure, a couple of years back, that Donaire was done with the sport, but he's surprising everyone with this 'lucky streak'. Like someone else says above, it is a tiny bit fishy, but good luck to the guyComment
