I'm probably the biggest Kell Brook fan on this forum. These are just excuses.

Brook had a long time to recover, it was a legit win where Spence was pushed to the limit, recovered and stopped Brook.

Probably the best win out of the current WW crop.

Brook coming off a loss isn't an excuse, it's something that actually happened. Don't imagine i wrote something beyond that. And to respond, imo i don't think brook was in control, i still don't get that argument. Spence was pressuring well to me and getting closer to breaking Brook with each passing round. And I'm not sure any version of brook convincingly beats Spence, so don't mistake facts for excuses.

Spence was definitely getting pushed back in the 6th 7th round and it looked like Brook was the stronger guy.

I don't think there were any signs at all of Spence breaking Brook before the end of the 7th round, to my recollection. I'd need to rewatch.

Yes it's true that Brook took an L. It doesn't mean much. He had the chance to give up the IBF title and move up, but decided not to because he felt he was good.

So if he felt he was good, then we shouldn't make any excuses for him. Spence beat a legit, big and strong undefeated (at) welterweight champion.

In my eyes, that fight proved Spence was a legit champ. Does it mean he's P4P or a great? no. but a legit champ at this stage.
