Does Hearn know the taxes in NY are absolutely ridiculous? The Miller was probably going to walk away somewhere between 2-2.5 million dollars after everything cleared. This is why Ortiz's people were asking for 10 million. After everything cleared out, Ortiz would have taken home about 5 million. But i don't think Ortiz was a real consideration anyway. AJ has been in training already while the next opponent has about 4 weeks to get ready. That's of course the opponent hasn't already been named behind the scenes. Plus Mike Hunter is MatchRoom guy newly signed. He will gladly take those movie tickets and free refills. I
I don't think this can really add up. You can be in training for weeks with a particular opponent in sight. Once that opponent is changed it means that you've got to change your spar partner, adjust to the style of your new opponent and that translates to you starting all over again.

MSG will be fine, but Las Vegas would've been better for Joshua vs. Ruiz!

I like Ruiz Jr. and i dont like it to throw him in against Joshua as a short notice replacement. Wish he would have a 10 week camp for a fight like this. On the other hand he just came from an esy win and could be fight ready by June 1 and there are no better options for Josh to fight on that date because Ortiz Management said no.

May I remind you that fight was controversial, and if you ask around many would tell you Ruiz won that fight, but since was staged in Parker’s home it was awarded to him. I really think that fat @ss Ruiz will give a better account than fat @ss Miller would. IMHO

Gladly. One, Ortiz was challenging for WBC for the first time so he played his position. Two, this situation is much different. Ortiz is easily the 4th best HW behind the big three and Hearn is the one in need of a big name to really make things interesting. Three, Not only that, there is only 4 weeks to prepare for while AJ has been training already. Four, A fighter should NEVER low ball himself. He started high (10 million), but i bet they will met somewhere in the middle. Hearn has the money the way Skipper has been throwing it around. Five, Hearn was is either going to select Ruiz or Hunter. Ortiz was never a consideration imo because he is more skilled than Hunter and Ruiz.

But Hearn knows he can't pick a lamb for the slaughter or this fight will not be taken seriously. The last offer i heard from Hearn was 7 million.
