Everybody knows they ducked Lewis for years. That's why the facts can be found if you look. No evidence can be found for Lewis ducking them, because it isn't true. Americans however will always say it's the other way round no matter who the fighter is. You're very well known for it. It's pathetic.
I ain't American. They made more money fighting each other while Lewis was being flattened by Tyson's sparring partners.

He waited it out fighting Tyson and Holy's leftovers until they were past prime and he could pick them off.

Truth is Brits over-rate him massively, he was being outboxed by Frank Bruno for 7 rounds. The same Bruno obliterated embarassingly twice by Tyson. He was flattened twice by journeymen and no great HW has been cleaned out like that twice by average fighters.

You sound like an American. You have that ******ed feel to you where you talk mad crazy nonsense that isn't close to the truth or reality based.

From where does this delusion come from then? Not a European Wlad/Vitali fan trying to smear are you?

Holyfield was happy for Don King to keep freezing Lewis out for years because he wouldn't sign with him. But they still tried to get him in the ring. At one point, Holyfield asked for 10 Mill to fight. Lewis and his side got the money only for Holyfield to then do what so many Americans do by asking for double that. They always price themselves out to duck. Typical American move.

Tyson gave up the WBC title to duck Lewis and even paid Lewis millions to step aside beforehand. He never wanted it. After Lewis schooled him when they were both young, Tyson made sure to duck him. Tyson even tried to get out of the fight when it was finally made by biting a chunk out of his leg. That's how scared Tyson was.

These facts can be found on Boxrec and all over the internet. Nothing about Lewis ducking either of them because it isn't true.

Lewis was shot in that fight but still won. He had achieved everything he set out to do. Once you've reached that point mentally, it's over. For any fighter. Fighting on didn't make any sense. So stop with this nonsense that Vitali retired him. All Vitali did was let Lewis know that you had to be serious and still want to fight to be Heavyweight champion. Lewis thinking he could just be casual wasn't going to cut it.

"I'm like fine wine. I just get better with age"

-- Lennox Lewis during National Conference Call, April 24, 2003

Yeah, that was 2 months before his fight with Vitali

dude had no intentions whatsoever of retiring before facing the terror from ukrania

Vitali obviously made him reconsider his plans, after that brutal match where he only won due to fouling and having a biased doctor, referee and venue on his side

after the fight, he held the belt hostage for months and waited to see if Vitali would lose his next fight with Kirk Johnson. After Klitschko destroyed Johnson in 2 rounds and the WBC ordered the rematch, Lennox suddenly announced his retirement

Vitali retired Lewis. If Vitali wasn't around Lennox would have fought until his 40's surely

The difference is, Calzaghe was talking about considering retiring even 2 years before his final match with Hopkins

The thought of retiring never even crossed Lewis' mind until he got pummeled by Klitschko and got within a hair's breadth of losing in brutal fashion

Vitali effectively scared Lewis into retirement

wow still bitter after over a decade. just look at the difference between vits and lewis resumes. Thats all you should need.

Frank Bruno was better than vits if you are just going by how the did against lennox.
