The first serious negotiations between the camps began in December 2009 with Manny Pacquiao having beaten Ricky Hatton seven months earlier for his light welterweight titles and Mayweather coming off his victory over Juan Manuel Marquez after a 21-month hiatus. Both Mayweather and Pacquiao agreed to fight one another on March 13, 2010. Each boxer would take half of the $50 million purse. But before things could be made official, Mayweather demanded Olympic style blood testing administered by the United States Anti-Doping Agency. This particular style of testing, which up until recent Mayweather fights was not enforced in non-Olympic boxing matches, requires each fighter to allow random blood and urine tests throughout training and up until the day of the fight.
Pacquiao did not agree to the proposed style of testing as he preferred either scheduled tests or a cutoff date for blood testing at least seven days before the fights. Reasons for Pacquiao's request have included his fear of needles (despite having a few tattoos) and his belief that drawing blood too close to the fight date will weaken him. After mediating possible testing windows before a former judge, both camps were unable to reach an agreement and negotiations officially ended on January 7, 2010. - Complex

Agreed 50-50 split just like he wants with Spence/Crawford. Tell me what Arum had to do with Pac's refusal to do blood testing. People try to rewrite history good thing we have the internet to fact check.

If Blood test was the only reason to not make that fight Arum would of made it shortly thereafter but the excuses kept coming and they kept moving the goal posts. In the meantime we fighting Clottey, we fighting Margarito, we fighting Mosley, we fighting Bradley 3 times, we Jeff Horn, we fighting Marquez who Floyd already beat again, we fighting Algieri, and finally when I'm out of stable we'll see if Mayweather is still available to cash out Manny.

That's why I'm laying it out there now, no need to figure it out, two different networks, two different promoters, one named Al one named Arum, so we already know how that's going to go. I'll get excited about fights that can happen not fights that can't.

Exactly .. ALL fans are losers here. thats why i dont get why PBC lovers are so happy this fight wont happen anytime soon. both PBC and TR fanboys should be up in arms demanding this. I truly believe crawford is at his peak prime now. same for Spence. as a FAN i dont wanna wait. but too many fans are living in this fantasy world where they personally get a cut of PPV sales and act like wannabe advisors and accountants

Do your research man Pac sued Mayweather afterward. How many years later did he finally agree to unrestricted blood testing when he should have just agreed in the first place when everyone from Floyd to Bob Arum agreed to a 50 50 split. Don't try to rewrite history. I answered your question yes Arum during the very first negotiations was willing to make the fight asking for the same 50 50 split he is now asking for Crawford/Spence. Arum had **** all to do with homeboy not wanting to do the testing.

Because minus Crawford the best fights for fans are still Spence versus any top fighter in the stable.

So you saying it was just Pac saying blood test make him weak? I certainly recall Arum (and Fans like you) repeating the same bogus lines over and over whenever Floyd was brought up.

The **** are you talking about. Our discussion pertains to Arum. Did he not agree to a 50 50 split during the first negotiations to make the Pac/Mayweather fight? You trying to pin Pac's refusal to do testing on him is horse**** and a deflection. I could say the same ****** **** and blame Haymon for not convincing Floyd to retract his demand for testing. Pac is an idiot who turned down a 50 50 split that Bob Arum, Al Haymon, and Floyd Mayweather all agreed to just to turn around and relent to years later. To this day he is suspect for that ****. Arum wants the same 50 50 split for Crawford/Spence. Guess which side isn't willing to play ball.
