We all know Porky is terrified of Loma. Backing a coward says A lot about what kind of man you are. Floyd and Ellerbe know this and want to keep Davis safe from destruction.

Nothing to worry about, we all know Porky too scared to get in the ring with Loma. It's not happening Floyd and Ellerbe have no faith in Porky. Sad when your own promoter doesn't believe in you.

If he truly has the "IT" factor it'll show naturally the fact that Ellerbe has to constantly remind us that tank is the "biggest star" & is gonna be the future face of boxing seems more like hes trying to convince us more than he actually believes that

Don't matter if you got the "it" factor if you don't fight enough or fight the names to build up your own name to max level. Also the lil guy "it" factor isn't as impressive as the big guy "it" factor or the best "it" factor the HW with "it".

They need to have Tank fighting like Floyd used to be fighting.

Floyd was killing it at 130.

Floyd's run from pro debut to last 130lb fight:

-Goes 17-0 before winning 130lb belt over Genaro Hernandez (38-1-1, 2x title holder, 12-1-1 in title fights) in just days under 2yrs as a pro.
-Defends title 1.5mos later over Angel Manfredy (25-2-1, on a 23-0, 18KO streak).
-Defends title 2mos later over Carlos Rios (44-2-1)
-Defends title 3mos later over Justin Juuko (33-2-1)
-Defends title 3.5mos later over Carlos Gerena (34-2)
-Defends title 6mos later over Gregorio Vargas (40-6-1, ex-title holder)
-Non-title win 7mos later over Emanuel Augustus (22-16-4)
-Defends title 3mos later over Diego Corrales (33-0, title holder w/3 defenses)
-Defends title 4mos later over Carlos Hernandez (33-2-1)
-Defends title 5.5mos later over Jesus Chavez (35-1, on a 31-0 streak)

Tank's run from pro debut to present:

-Goes 16-0 before winning 130lb belt over José Pedraza (22-0, 2 title defenses) one month shy of 4yrs as a pro
-Defends title 4mos later over Liam Walsh (21-0)
-Wins fight, but Loses belt on the scales 3mos later over Francisco Fonseca (19-0-1)
-Regains vacant belt 8mos later over Jesús Cuellar (28-2)
-Defends title 9.5mos later over Hugo Ruiz (39-4, ex-title holder)

Can't have those long of layoffs as a young title holder & keep "it" long term. Just like Floyd overcame the bump in the road with his beef with TR during his inactive period (Vargas/Augustus fights) Tank needs to overcome the bump in his road with his beef with MP during his current inactive period. Biggest difference is TR was a machine at keeping Floyd in the ring before & after their beef. MP has never gotten Tank off the ground before or yet with Tank's activity.

You want to people to be quiet about it? Nah we going to clown his ass and will laugh at the ratings when they do poorly like his last fight against that batamweight.
Sounds good. Hope you enjoy it. Not sure it will matter to anyone else.

FYI...Ellerbe is a promoter, he is supposed to hype him up. Its literally what he gets paid to do.

I think they know that but the kid has not been consistent outside the ring. If he had moved to Vegas like Floyd asked and set up for him to do, he would be in a much better position.

Excellent post. Well said, Eff Pandas.

I'm frustrated with all the inactivity and no shine. Davis seems retired. Come back and fight a tough tune up at 135 against someone like Fortuna in July. Go from there. Forget 130.

Who give a motherf#ck where the kid lives? I get Floyd's & Ellerbe's take & concern. "Lets get Tank outta Baltimore where mfers get murdered over dumb sh^t & maybe he's not as focused as he'd be in another place".

BUT you gotta let a man make his own decisions. Either let Tank control where the f#ck he wants to sleep & train or cut him loose. Don't try to punish him into your decision by giving him long gaps between fights.

Hell man a lot of the trouble Tank is getting into is probably because Floyd & Ellerbe keep him so inactive so he's got no goal to focus on with a fight so they are contributing to the problem not trying to fix it. Who cares where this cat sleeps & trains at if he wants to be this place instead of that place its his choice.

I hate this promoter bs on things that don't matter. Sign a guy & put him in fights. Fair play on offering people situations you think are more favorable, but don't micromanage them into the decisions you want if they don't scoop up your offer.

Its super ironic to me Floyd had beef with TR back in the day on TR not letting Floyd be Floyd & NOW Tank & Floyd/Ellerbe have issues cuz Floyd & Ellerbe seem to have a hard time letting Tank be Tank.

Idk if Tank is right or not, but I know Floyd hasn't exactly been a promotional mastermind either thus far (despite me being a fan of his matchmaking overall, to me Eddie & Floyd put on the most competitively matched shows in the business today) & his biggest flaw as a promoter to me seems to be his overbearingness with his fighters. I mean we've all probably seen some of his cringeworthy moments ringside with his fighters who can barely get corner instructions from their trainer cuz Floyd has deemed himself promoter, trainer, manager, adviser, cutman & spit bucket boy. Floyd needs to f#cking relax a lil & let the chips fall where they may with some of this sh^t.
