Crawford has already won four belts before. They know to be the real champion they have to fight him and vice-versa. It's all well and good having belts but if everyone knows there's a better fighter also with a belt then the public will demand it. I hope the PBC allows whoever has three belts to fight Bud but I won't hold my breath. The way Ellerbe is talking it doesn't seem to be in the plans.

I am glad that this fight is made though. Porter's style is awful and IMO he lost to Ugas so Spence-Thurman potentially being on for the first quarter of 2020 should be good news for the division and a step closer to the fight the boxing world should be demanding (but oddly some dont want to see).

That fight will just show how good Spence is. Mikey is going to be able to compete with the rest of the WWs minus possibly Crawford. Danny says he is down with the fight and it will be a big money fight so I don't see why he turns it down. Make it happen Al!

you are purposely trying to confuse understanding why its not happening vs wanting to see it...we all want it and have 0 problems if it happens now...we just understand why it isn't lol

again....Thurman or spence will emerge with 3 belts and at least a couple of successful ppvs under their belts

bud will be scraping for fights and he will be B-sideUD when the time comes

I don't hate bud...I like him a lot....but he did play a part in this ...he chose what he chose knowing full well the landscape of the division...I have no beef with him....but he cant cry and neither should his fans

Spence vs. Danny looked more interesting. Thurman or Pacquiao would have been better opponents as well. Porter is unwatchable and many felt he got a gift in his las fight.

Well, we as fans need to push for that fight to happen. Okay, Crawford chose to re-up with TR, a company that has treated him VERY well. No crime in doing that. So how do we get the fight to happen? For one, stop letting Bob throw out BS narratives and actually work on this fight happening. Crawford's PPV vs Khan looks to have done less than 300k buys, and possibly less than 200k buys. He doesn't have any obvious PPV opponents in the near future either. It is time to scrap the "joint-PPV" crap and force Bud to just go on over to make the mega fight happen. Crawford has lesser options and will be doing less PPV numbers than Spence. IF he really wants the fight happen, eventually that's what he forces TR to do. For Bob, you let Bud do that and hope he wins and brings all the belts to ESPN. Then at that point you have all the leverage in the division and make the PBC WWs come to you.

I understand why they are going the Porter then Thurman route and it makes 100% sense. I actually don't have a problem with that. I have a problem with what seems like celebration it won't happen and stuff like Ellerbe laughing at the prospect of it and saying "Who wants to see it? What fans?".

I think the fight would be 50/50. I don't think Spence-Porter will do all that well on PPV and though Thurman would be better it still wouldn't eclipse Spence-Garcia and with Crawford being the better fighter and ranked higher pound for pound it will probably be 50/50. Spence may have 3 belts but Crawford has a history of 4 belts, another division cleaned out and who knows maybe he'll have a PPV that at least does similar to Spence-Thurman.

I am fine waiting another 12-18 months because even as a hardcore fan that will want to be ringside for the fight I want more and more people talking about it. I want it to be a huge event not just a hardcore fans fight. I just don't like Ellerbe's tone and that echoed by PBC fanboys regarding the dismissal of the fight and look around that's out there. I suspect it's because they fully expect Crawford to beat Spence (or Thurman).

Maybe Bud respects loyalty and maybe just maybe he has confidence that smart people should be able to come together to make good business? He still had years on his contract anyway it wasn't like his extension was him as a free agent. Top Rank just extended it for basically the duration of his career earlier otherwise he'd have been in a Mikey Garcia situation of taking a few years off.

That leaves DSG without an opponent. Mikey said he wants to stay WW so how about those two facing off? Mikey isn't interested in tune up or smaller level fights at this point. Mikey vs DSG is a damn good match up where I'm favoring Mikey. You?
Good fight. I’d probably lean towards Mikey by decision in a hard fought fight. Mikey is the more skilled technically but he’s not the most elusive so might have problems with the size/strength of DSG.

They’ll keep feeding him C level fighters until Arum makes his money back while saying they want Spence and the fans will eat it up. Khan-Crawford flopped really bad so Arum is desperate. I been hearing some things Crawford team has been saying and it sounds like they regret signing with Arum but if your naive enough to sign with TR then you deserve everything you get. One of my favorite fighters but he should of started his own company. They haven’t really boosted his career anyway they were putting him on ESPN+ at first

                  Chavez Jr
                  Oscar
                  TBE
                  Cotto
                  Pacquiao
                  Mikey G
                  Gamboa
                  Vargas

They all left and majority of them sued Arum, no promoter has been sued more and in court more than a Arum. The writing is on the wall.

I like Porter,I really do but don't see this as a competitive fight. Porter has slipped IMO and Spence will probably KO him early or mid rounds.

Mikey proved he can take a punch against Spence and obviously is very skilled. He just couldn't get past Spence's jab.

DSG isn't as big and strong as Spence, but punch for punch may have naturally heavier hands. Either way, Mikey has a MUCH better chance of winning that fight.
