I like Mikey at 140 and it is a TON of Potential BIG match ups at 140 once WBSS is over. Mikey vs the Winner of WBSS is instantly a big fight. Fight at 140-144 catchweight then grow into 147 Properly!

MIKEY gets his azz whipped at 147. He should stay at 140.

Comments Thread For, Dean Smiles: Mikey Garcia is hoping that Lipinets somehow grabs a belt at 147 so a 5th belt is in his future.

If you are the smaller guy moving up, you can get blown out (Mikey) and people just say - he was too small.

You can get dominated and sometimes still get a gift decision (Ward, Canelo etc).

It's often times a win/win for the smaller guy to move up. Not a good look for Mikey to seem to be avoiding the one fight we all really want to see him in.
I don't think anybody in boxing would say that. Easier to go fight and beat a bigger man than it is to beat a smaller man? I don't think so friend.

Yeah I was just going on the fact he said he can't make 135, which I'm not entirely convinced since he looked a bit flabby even at 140.

If he stayed at 140 he could unify the division and get the WBSS winner, maybe Teo if he moves up and is any good whilst Loma unifies 135. Then we could get some undisputed P4P on undisputed P4P action whether that happened at 135, 140 or a catch-weight I wouldn't mind.

I know that's living in the dream world but that would make one big fight if they pulled it off, with lots of dough and a great legacy for both fighters.

I literally just explained why in the rest of my original post, Mr Ake Dawg lol:

                  "Mr Ake Dawg:

Add to that the fact that if you are the bigger guy, meeting the smaller guy, people will always expect you to win and be dominant, and sometimes even that isn't enough to please the fans (Spence) or you can get robbed (Kov,GGG).

What you are describing is the out of the ring pressures. In the ring, the fighter moving up is at the disadvantage. Its the reason we celebrate fighters who move up in weight and dominate. Fan expectations for you to win versus actually fighting a skilled bigger fighter is no contest.
