At this point in his career GGG doesn't need a trainer anymore. He is on the back end of his career and he is going to become what Manny has become.- still good enough to beat very good guys but not capable of getting back to the elite level to beat the top tier guys because of age. Why do you pay 10% of your salary for someone that can't change that? That's is why Manny gave Freddy the axe.

You guys should know by now how the sport works. Canelo will beat him. Then he fights anothe Rolls level opponent and wins. Then he probably beats Jacobs. Eventually he will be positioned as the setup fight for the next challenger for Canelo.

WTF are you talking about? A boxing TRAINER is not equal to a music industry MANAGER. GG still has a manager, in addition to a trainer. The only time a trainer is the manager is at the lowest levels.

Terrible comparison. That's like saying Seth Riggs was to Michael Jackson what Abel Sanchez is to Gennady Golovkin (if you're actually in the industry you'll know what I'm talking about but I've a feeling your a guy with a laptop DAW and a dream).

And, the argument isn't about whether Abe should get it or who is right or wrong. I'm laughing at the OP not knowing that it's standard.

Sounds like he is the greedy one, not GGG.

I never said the jobs are the same.

I said the percentages go down the more the attraction makes, it's pretty standard whether it's a trainer, manager or whatever. When it's time to re-negotiate a contract, it'll usually be less than the "standard" %, because the overall sum is still huge.

Do you think Canelo's training team will be getting 35 million from that contract? - no chance. Do you think Rob McCracken is earning 10% of AJ's purse? no chance.

I wasn't comparing the actual jobs.

            You are simple.

So who are all these top tier guys who can beat him. Jacobs could not beat him and many think Canelo never beat him. Mayweather continued to beat all comers at 37 and even much older and Hopkins did it at 45. I'll pick him to beat any middleweight until I believe one beat him.Canelo has not beat him yet and I doubt he will be a big underdog when the fight. You want Canelo to beat him but that doesn't mean he will.

It's standard. I remember even Mayweather Sr was getting 10% of Dela Hoya's purse at one point.

If that's what Sanchez actually said, he's probably talking a dollars to dollars comparison from the last Canelo fight to his offer for the upcoming fight. As many have suggested, no way he's been taking home 10% of GGG's purses for the Canelo fights unless GGG is ill-advised and insane.
