I see that nuance is a challenge for some on this site. I did not say that DAZN has recouped the money they paid Canelo. I don't know if they have or have not. I do think that they would have paid hundreds of millions to get as much publicity as they are currently generating with Canelo. As I said The publicity this generated has helped them immensely in opening up American and Latin American markets not only in boxing but in other sports for the future development of their enterprise. Boxing for them is only a small part of the enterprise.
"DAZN offers more than 8,000 sport events a year,[37] ranging from major to minor competitions including the Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, National Basketball Association, National Football League, Major League Baseball, National Hockey League, Formula One, and Bellator MMA. DAZN is the host broadcaster of Japan's J.League, broadcasting every game of the season across all three divisions."
Again, the publicity gained from signing Canelo gives them credibility in the Americas across a wide range of sports.
Incidentally, increasing prices usually accompany a strengthening financial posture.
