If he wants to get paid from said contract he will fight what is given him or do you not understand how independent contractors get paid?

I do because that's how i make a living doing cyber security work for the DoD, one contract at a time.

An independent contractor can make their own decisions about where they want to work and for whom and on a job by job basis. Canelo can't. He can't choose what to do on a fight by fight basis for the next 5 yrs. He's contracted to Dazn. Just like an athlete who signs to play for a specific team. They're under contract and don't have the ability to move freely. Nice try though.
I see that you did not read the legal analysis I provided. I will make it easier for you. Here is a link to the IRS distinction between an employee and an independent contractor. Incidentally, it is not about semantics, it is about federal law. A quick way to distinguish, with appropriate caveats, is to determine if DAZN withholds taxes and contributes to social security retirement directly for Canelo or if Canelo is on pays the taxes himself from the winnings. I think you will find that the feds will get their money directly from Canelo. I do agree with your last point. On the flip side, while DAZN cannot mandate that Canelo fight Golovkin, Canelo cannot fight for any other streaming service or broadcast medium unless he reaches a buyout or another type of accommodation with DAZN.

This is GGG 2nd "Rolls" in his last 3 fights! And Fielding is a top 10 SMW while Rolls is almost 100.

Oh, I do understand and do not disagree with you. I have hired hundreds of independent contractors over the years. That was not my point. Re-read my post.

I can't argue with what Canelo is saying because I haven't read his contract in full but I don't see why DAZN would offer GGG all that money if they didn't plan to make the 3rd fight.

One more point, which you should know very well. Independent contractors' work and pay are defined by the contract. If the contract does not require Canelo to fight GGG and he does not, that does not release DAZN from their obligations under the contract. They are still on the hook for the money as long as Canelo does not fight for another broadcast medium.

Canelo already beat ggg twice and he is right in not giving ggg a free payday. Make him earn another shot if not thats it. And anyone saying canelo is avoiding any fighter really have nothing left to say because canelo has been fighting everybody.

So yes at this current point in time financially his career DOES revolve around GGG till a bigger purse comes along to change that.
canelo is already getting 35 mill a fight, and judging by the way he has been speaking in the last few weeks , his priority is to become undisputed this year, the ggg fight will still be there...
time will tell, but right now it seems like he has a very clear mind set...
