Wrong! Canelo will do what is in his best interest in accordance with the contract. Unless Canelo is lying the contract with does not specifically state that he must fight GGG. You are also wrong on a second point. He is not an employee of DAZN. He is an independent contractor -- big difference. Here is a link explaining it.

I do because that's how i make a living doing cyber security work for the DoD, one contract at a time.Comment

he's locked up for his next 11 fights (9 after Jacobs) and they're under Dazn. Try to use semantics all you want but he's still an employee. An independent contractor can make their own decisions about where they want to work and for whom and on a job by job basis. Canelo can't. He can't choose what to do on a fight by fight basis for the next 5 yrs. He's contracted to Dazn. Just like an athlete who signs to play for a specific team. They're under contract and don't have the ability to move freely. Nice try though.Comment

No, no Rolls. He already fought his Rolls in Fielding. Problem is GGG is getting old and if Caneo fights Andrade after Jacobs then GGG fight might not happen until May 2020. And its a bit too late..the interest will significantly decline by then. And I'd be the first to say that Canelo is likely to outpoint GGG at that stage without much controversyComment

Oh, I do understand and do not disagree with you. I have hired hundreds of independent contractors over the years. That was not my point. Re-read my post.Comment

I can't argue with what Canelo is saying because I haven't read his contract in full but I don't see why DAZN would offer GGG all that money if they didn't plan to make the 3rd fight.Comment

One more point, which you should know very well. Independent contractors' work and pay are defined by the contract. If the contract does not require Canelo to fight GGG and he does not, that does not release DAZN from their obligations under the contract. They are still on the hook for the money as long as Canelo does not fight for another broadcast medium.Comment

Canelo already beat ggg twice and he is right in not giving ggg a free payday. Make him earn another shot if not thats it. And anyone saying canelo is avoiding any fighter really have nothing left to say because canelo has been fighting everybody.Comment

But it does financially, Canelo currently will not get a bigger payday from any other fight except GGG. Being undisputed is meaning less simply because MOST fans and experts think he lost the fight fight (and the PED issues dog that also) and the 2nd fight is somewhat contested (as a GGG fan i think he lost a close one to Canelo thou).
So yes at this current point in time financially his career DOES revolve around GGG till a bigger purse comes along to change that.
time will tell, but right now it seems like he has a very clear mind set...Comment
