Loeffler says DAZN wants Canelo GGG 3 in the fall

Two of the strangest things I've seen on here:No f#cking sh^t DAZN wants that.
GGG vs Canelo III is the fight that could entice people who don't have DAZN to get it. And it'll help get the awareness level out there more with casuals which now with the $20/mo situation is a + for DAZN, more revenue & good for fans, who wouldn't rather pay $20 for a big Canelo fight vs $70ish+.
1) that people actually think Canelo is in charge of who he fights now/people saying that DAZN isn't basically in control of telling Canelo who he will fight.
2) that so many people seem to be opposed to DAZN, when it is pretty clearly a better deal for fans.
I just can't take anyone seriously who argues against those points, and surprisingly a lot of people on here do.Comment

That is an interesting question - but the WBC belt being on the line means a lot more for the WBC in that fight than it does for Canelo or GGG. They will do the same numbers as before with or without that belt. The WBC misses out on a lot of fees I would imagine if they sit that one out and strip Canelo.
My guess is they mandate that the winner fights Charlo, but they have been slow walking that one for a while. Charlo not going with DAZN could really see him frozen out and screwed over money wise in all of this.
Wouldn't be surprised if they stripped Canelo, and Canelo and GGG fight anyway. And then Charlo gets the WBC title shot against someone, but the DAZN guys all stay over there and just fight each other.
But yeah it will be interesting what happens there.Comment

I think it was an easy deal to make with Canelo cause he mostly wants the best fights out their so it wouldn't of been hard selling him on and making these big fights for him.No doubt. Lotsa mfers thinking Canelo was gonna be looking to make Canelo vs Fielding II & III on this deal or some sh^t lol. These cats like DAZN & Showtime (with Floyd) or HBO (with Tyson) back in the days who put up these insane amounts of money aren't just hands off from there on. They got influence & veto power you can bet.
Hell man from hearing Jacobs side of the story with his DAZN situation it sounds like he was more or less guaranteed Canelo before he signed the deal from how I took what he said. Now if they talked to Canelo beforehand to see if he was cool with it or more or less told him or pressured him into accepting it is up for debate & idk the answer to that, but DAZN has power in this agreement.
GGG I'm not so sure of anymore.
I think he list alot of love for the sport when he got his loss.Comment

The WBC have been all over the damned place with their MW title mandatory orders. That is an interesting question - but the WBC belt being on the line means a lot more for the WBC in that fight than it does for Canelo or GGG. Charlo has been their mando since before the first GGG/Canelo fight, when he won a final eliminator against Heiland. But instead of ordering GGG to fight Jermall after he retained his belt with a draw, the WBC instead mandated a rematch between GGG and Canelo.
So that meant the winner of the rematch would have to fight Charlo, right?
Wrong! Canelo won but Golovkin was ordered to fight Charlo in yet another final eliminator!
I don't think the WBC would stand in the way of a 3rd GGG/Canelo fight, as a voluntary defence, and if GGG won he would certainly be ordered to fight Charlo next. But if Canelo won, what then? Seems like anything is posible with the WBC these days.Last edited by kafkod; 04-24-2019, 10:15 PM.Comment

Good post kafkod, I especially agree with the bolded part. Sulaiman seemed to genuinely like GGG as his champion but his love for Canelo seems to be on another level. Basically whatever Canelo wants, he will probably get.The WBC have been all over the damned place with their MW title mandatory orders.

Will be interesting to see how all of it plays out.Comment

DAZN doesn’t need it for fall. The Mexican Holidays will always bring DAZN cash. Loeffler just desperate as usualComment
