Daniel Jacobs continues to ILLUSTRATE ''Moving'' as a way to beat CANELO

I heard Jacobs answer a question regarding the blueprint to beat Canelo and he referenced to use Mayweather's blueprint and HIS.

I thought, is Jacobs really this naive or are these random answers to provide the press because obviously most fighters never detail weakness or strategies during a presser.

Jacobs references Lara and Mayweather, however, Canelo is a completely different fighter since then..

He was also asked by a reporter regarding output to beat Canelo. These are important questions because we don't know if Team Jacobs is going to coast like Golovkin did in being conservative, so much that Team Jacobs will rely on a scoring narrative should they lose.

He might be a better fighter since then, but we have no evidence he is any better at dealing with movement because he hasn't fought anyone that could move a bit since then. Well Khan but he was too small and chinny at lightweight and still won some rounds vs Canelo.

Look at Canelo's opponents since then. GGG, Cotto, Chavez, Kirkland, Fielding, Smith etc.. none of them are guys that can give him movement to trouble him.

He hasn't fought any threat that can really box and move since Lara, everyone has been flat footed. So we don't really know..

What I dont like about these movement strategies by some of these guys is that they dont do nothing, but because they could keep away from the other guy they expect to win the rounds.

Canelos weakness is someone who can box at an elite level consistently throughout a whole fight, only mayweather has shown and exploited this weakness. Movers only deter some of canelos arsenal not all of it his timing usually catches people out.

Exactly. Canelo is a flashy guy with an eye catching style the judges love (those Pacquiao goggles) and if you just move and have limited offense, anything Canelo does just seems even more dramatic. Jacobs will need to move and cause damage. If he is to win a fair decision, it’ll need to be obvious. Move but fight like you cant allow it to go to the judges so that if it does go, the rounds arent up to debate.

Jacobs is a lot bigger and I hope we see him try to assert himself because he may have faster feet...but Canelo has exceptional timing, reflexes, and explosive hand speed as well. This is a gooooood fight and Jacob’s size and temperament are going to be huge factors. He cant get complacent and think close rounds are going to him Id hate to see him beat himself

JJacobs is not that fast or this great mover. GGG kicked his ass and was able to hit him and knock him down and Jacobs has not looked as good as he did in that fight in the fights he has had since then. With the morning weigh in that he can't skip like he did in the GGG fight he will not have enough time to put on weight and won't be as heavy or as strong. I think Canelo has faster hands, more boxing skills and better combinations. Canelo has a much better chin and more power and is the faster puncher and his body punches are pure murder. I think Jacobs gets KOed but if Jacobs does win that means GGG beat a guy Canelo could not beat.

Mayweather didn't beat Canelo with movement, so that's a horrible assessment. Floyd stood in the pocket at times and used great countering ability....SOMETIMES he moved, but he gave Canelo a lot more looks than just one. Jacobs isn't even half as skilled as Floyd in countering nor does he have the same reflexes, let alone movement of Floyd.

                  Pretty much.
Danny cannot hope to backfoot and win close rounds against Canelo.History shows that Canelo wins close fights...Danny needs to sell out to a degree if he wants to win.

If Jacobs was fighting the 23 year old Canelo who fought Mayweather he would easily win. Canelo has improved with every fight since then and is a vastly improved fighter now. He would beat that Mayweather now and he'll beat Jacobs.
