Timing is everything in life and in boxing. Andy Ruiz just fought and won comfortably last weekend and is in reasonably good shape. I think it's to his benefit that he gets back into training and keeps the momentum going.

It's funny though.... 'fans' keep blasting Ortiz like he's running from this one. For one thing, we don't know how/if negotiations are going with his people and Joshua's people. Or for that matter, he may not even be at fighting shape right now. He had a fight 6 weeks ago. Did he stay in training since then? We don't know. 'Fans' it seems keep making more and more assumptions as the years pass on. I remember Dad talking about Joe Louis' 'Bum of the Month Club' back in the day. So I understand the concept, and it does happen in the sport, no denying it. But at the end of the day, I'll just sit back and wait on Luis. And if he takes this fight on short notice, he gets a salute from me. If not, so what? It's his decision. He may feel he needs a full training camp, as most fighters do. Personally, I don't think he's running from anyone. But he does need to be paid well at this stage. So we will see how this unfolds. No matter really.... Ruiz will put up a good battle as would Ortiz, Whyte, Fury, Pulev etc.

Personally if a fighter has been vocal for 2 years now about what he will do to Joshua and he gets an opportunity to fight him and not only his promoter but the fighter says he is willing to fight at least a response to tell us you are still alive. I don’t want to hear from you I want to hear from him. You can only say so much , Ortiz has to show us he is worth his salt

Am sure that is been paid well for a rematch.
How do some people think on this forum?

We'll find out soon enough, like I said, from he and his people. But I won't blame him if he wants a full camp for Joshua. That's only fair IMO.

We'll find out soon enough, and hopefully soon we'll see Ortiz in there with Joshua.
The nigqa is a well controlled monkey, that's all.

Originally posted by Noelanthony View PostFor the record everything you so is true. I don’t think Ortiz is scared of anyone. I’m trying to look at his situation logically. He has a family and a sick daughter. For years on end for 4 months out of the year He takes himself away from his family to train only to come home with peanuts yet enough for him to salute Al Haymon. This time round he goes away for 6 weeks and makes millions. Luis has been very vocal about his opportunity if he ever faced Joshua now it is here and he needs more time. He is old anyway he shouldn’t be doing full camps. He had 5 weeks to prepare for Wilder why now that he has 6 weeks and more money and more belts it’s a problem. ? Furthermore Ive changed my stance there is no justification for him not taking the fight besides his belief that he may not pass VADA . Which then I understand
