Sky’s boxing content has been disgraceful this year.

Fights like Allen-Browne headlining and now Whyte vs Rivas is on PPV. The standard just gets lower and lower. As a UK boxing fan I’m genuinely embarrassed.

And then BT’s content has been pretty much non-existent.

    “British boxing is booming though”😂😂😂

Man that Whyte card has to be stacked to make it worth it.

The thing with the Whyte fights though is at least they’re competitive fights. He’s fighting at the limit of his competency he’s taking the toughest fights he can.

I’d still rather see Allen/Browne than Crawford vs Amir Khan.

Really outside of Canelo and Jacobs and Warrington and Galahad I’m not that excited about any ‘world championship’ boxing.

And I say that as someone who had zero interest in either Warrington or Galahad about a year ago. But Warrington is as game as a bagel.

I think it will be. Got Chisora vs Parker, Okolie vs Lebedev, Charlie Edwards unification. People always laugh about Brook vs Gavin being PPV, but that was loaded, was worth every penny, I expect the same with this card.

This is what I’m talking about. Brook-Gavin (a total mismatch) had a good undercard but a good undercard does not make a fight PPV worthy. We should be demanding good undercards week in week out. The standard of televised boxing is so low in the UK that anything semi-decent is now considered PPV worthy.

Its not strictly a UK thing. US cards this year are noticeably declining. Theyre headed down the exact same path as weve been going for years. They dont get the loaded regular cards anymore. Questionable PPVs with terrible undercards.

                Think it’s boxing wide.

Arum s.hit his adult diaper to get Khan in there with Crawford and charge $75 for the yanks and BT charging us 20 quid.

That was a very disrespectful PPV tbh. Cynical in that he wants the British fans on board and some name value and a fight where Crawford 1/10 at least to win. And Americans presumably don’t mind paying to see Khan knocked out, f.uck knows

                Farcical.

At this point I just look for 50/50’s at whatever level it might be

We’ve sunken far lower though, something like Crawford-Khan is a questionable PPV in the states but that’s still one of the best P4P fighters on the planet in Crawford against a very accomplished yet faded fighter in Khan who’s name still has value. I mean compare that to Whyte-Rivas or Whyte-Chisora.

My main issue isn’t even with PPV it’s the lousy fight nights we get. We used to get Froch-Bute, Crawford-Burns, Frampton-Martinez etc now we get Allen-Browne, Smith-Eggington the standard is not good enough

At least with Crawford though you’re watching an extremely talented fighter. I don’t consider Crawford-Khan a PPV worthy fight myself but it’s unquestionably a big fight. I mean imagine that fight was in the Manchester Arena or the O2 it would do massive numbers over here.
