how can you seriously deal with a guy throwing mud even before the negotiation starts?
Because the truth is it is a strategy to protect his investment, keep Crawford out of fighting Spence, and at the same time, make it appear like it's Haymon who prevents it.

This way, he can tell Crawford that Haymon doesn't want it, and keep Crawford out of his back from repeatedly asking for the fight. Same for the media, they cant reach out to Haymon anyway to confirm it.

What lies we weave when we first begin to deceive lol. Arum, and other promoters, would be an asset in any Intelligence organization.

      • And despite this being a 22 page thread currently, everyone ignores the words Arum used.

This is exactly the rhetoric the LDBC has been spouting using much more extreme and overt racism. Nothing Arum has said is not being said every day by one or other LDBC channel while accusing those black boxers who are not aligned with PBC as being "coons" or "buck dancers".

PBC has used the LDBC as its social media arm so now that Arum has come out using the exact logic the LDBC uses, we suddenly want to call racism? Look at the rhetoric the LDBC uses to describe Eastern European, British or Asian boxers and suddenly we are shocked at what Arum has said?

Boxing has a long and very active history of using racism either overtly or subtly to promote fights and create narratives. Is it right, no, but to ignore it is simply silly.

I have no reason to like or support Arum. I remember his history, not just the last 5 years. However, ignoring that the same racism that was used towards fighters of colour in the past are now being used by PBC supporters and by extension (some) black fighters is simply silly. Wasn't it Spence who just a few weeks ago was using race to cast aspersions on DLH?

Arum is old, frustrated and in the past has never bothered about racism to benefit himself BUT, is there anything he said in his current statements which does not have a strong element of truth?

What Arum said you cannot verify as the truth as Haymon never says anything, but he does use his servants and allies to do his talking for him like Ellerbe and the LDBC. And those allies and servants have and are using much more racist language that Arum has used in this latest statement.

Arum sounds like a kid raised in Brooklyn whose "religion" is everything there is to know about "boxing," but more importantly he defends his rant knowing he doesnt "look" black. He's not focusing his comments to the point of DNA certainty.

***s look white, so Arums going with the first thing you "see" and people tend to primarily focus on - his "white" complexion -vs- Als darker skin tone. He's running with the age old visual race card (building division) to get a response from the quiet behind the scenes rock badger.

Arum's trying to "pry" Haymon out of the successful self assured role he plays in boxing. He sees no other way on how to grab his attention to get the Spence/Crawford fight done now. Will the strategy work is the question

How many fighters left in top rank in the WW division..

all named fighters not named Crawford is in Haymon's ward.

how can he keep Bud relevant if he feeds him nothing...no disrespect but the opponents to make your name legendary is on the other side..

unless Loma jumps to WW or agree to fight in SLW

To be honest with you, I don't care about any of this anymore. I will tune in whenever there's good boxing, and not mismatches. They can all keep playing their little, baby games.
I getcha man. It's the same reason I stopped reading any articles about Wilder/Fury/Joshua. I'm sick and tired of these ****** games.

If they aint announcing a signed contract and a fight date then I don't even read the article.

Now the fight will definitely not happen! Sorry Bud! Follow the blueprint! Oscar, Floyd, Cotto, Mikey, and Manny!
Schaefer, DiBella, Tom Brown, Leon Maguiles, Yvon Michel in Quebec, Lee Baxter in Alberta, starting with that Poxon dude in the UK, etc.

Arum thinks that the press is ******, so he'll say whatever.

When a fighter has money in the bank, after also owning their own show, simply waving around a bag of money isn't going to cut it.

Terence Crawford just put on a fight that, again, very few people paid to see, and he did so after paying Amir Khan $5m, allegedly $2m more than was offered to Angel Garcia on Danny's behalf.

Fighters aren't ******, especially when they already have a camp looking after and doing right by them.
