I don't think anyone is saying that Teofimo Lopez is better than Lomachenko. We won't know that until they fight.

But he would be an interesting challenge for Lomachenko. Certainly more difficult than an Anthony Crolla .

Rather, many Loma fans be on here like:

I wanna see the best fights.

But in the same breath be like:

Lopez should stop calling Loma out and move up so Loma can grab the some obscure copper belt from some 100/1 nobody in the UK called Luke Campbell, lol

A lot of people are saying that actually. And again I like Lopez. I agree with Loma that Lopez should get a belt first because without that, if Loma wins, a lot of people calling for that fight won't give Loma any real credit for it if they fight and Loma wins.

And honestly I would give Lopez a decent shot; depends on how his size translates in there against Loma. If he can impose his size he has a good shot, if not Loma will most likely outbox him all day.

I was just making a point about something I thought about just now - that Lopez is basically doing what GGG did at the very beginning of GGG's career, rolling over a fewer lower level guys (without even having GGG's amateur pedigree as well).

Yet the same people who trash GGG (who has done way more than Lopez) are in love with Lopez and think he is great lol. Just shows again how tribal most people are with fighters. They would rate the same guy completely differently depending on a skin tone or last name. Oh well what can you do, that's life/boxing.

As a boxing fan - I would love to see the Lopez/Loma fight. I'm not really a huge Loma fan but I do like him. I like Lopez too but probably Loma more.

But I agree with Loma that Lopez should get a belt first before that fight happens. Lopez passes the eye test for me but he hasn't really faced anyone at all. If Loma beats him convincingly a lot of people who called for the fight will say Lopez was too raw/young etc.

And honestly man lol you are the exact type of poster I was referring to. You said Loma has been facing bums since Russell when he has like 6 or so good to great wins since then. Guys that all did more than Lopez has so far. So if Lopez gets a belt at least Loma can say he beat a belt holder even if people still want to give him minimal credit.

Kind of sucks that imo Lopez is big for his weight right now and may not be around 135 much longer anyway. But maybe that fight will still happen - I hope it does, and if Loma wins I hope people give him credit for it, at least the people who have been really big on Lopez anyway.

If Loma really wants Lopez to have a belt as a prerequisite, then he should tell Lopez to go to the UK and pick up that Mickey Mouse strap from Luke Campbell for him. And then he should agree to the fight.

No one knows when commey will be ready for a top contender, so Loma should seize the moment before the weight issue expires Lopez from 135.

I’ve already went on record on here stating I’d give Loma credit for fighting Lopez, win or lose. Once again, I just wanna see good fights, and wouldn’t be tripping off Lopez if Commey was healthy and ready to go.

Again, I don't see anyone saying that Lopez is guaranteed to beat Lomachenko.

Just that he is one of the few intriguing matchups available at 135 right now.

All this talk about him needing a belt first is fine and dandy...as long as Lomachenko's next fight isn't against someone else who also doesn't have a belt.

I missed the live fight and watching a replay.. and good god, how can anyone promote Teo vs. Loma at this stage of their career? It would be a slaughter. Teo has no footwork. There's a 90% chance he'll trip over his own shoes in the first 2 rounds.

Kid's exciting, but they're not gonna throw his career away. Guess that means we'll have a few years of "Loma ducking Teo" bullsht from the usual burger flipper squad on NSB.

And I stick by that. U and I both know that the divisions he’s been in have been weak, same issue I had with ggg all those years.

U must admit Walters was exposed as a pretender, and didn’t have ANY intentions of winning that fight for obvious reasons. It was merely a nice retirement fight for him. Now he can ride off in the sunset and live like a king in Jamaica for the rest of his life.

Rigo was COMPLETELY, all the way compromised by moving up two weight classes in the twilight of his career. So besides Russell, no one on his resume is really impressive to me, and that’s just being honest.

If we start mentioning guys like Pedraza and Linares then we’ve simply gotten desperate.
