Now I know why the hell this guy ran away from Taylor.

My theory is correct, he himself damn knows he has no chance. ****, as I was pointing out it's a lot better to lose to somebody rated as Taylor than lose against a past his prime fighter like Castillejo.

    There goes another pretender.

Was it really Castillejo that beat Sturm? Castillejo is a decent fighter but by no means is he aggresive or carry any kind of stoppage power. Sturm is a big strong guy and Delahoya's flurries did nothing to him. He must have really taken it to the defensive Sturm who really doesnt open up in fights.

        Loser Sturm!!!!!

Two-time jr middleweight champion Javier Castillejo (61-6, 41 KOs) won the WBA middleweight title with a shocking tenth round TKO over Felix Sturm (25-2, 11 KOs) Saturday night at the Color Line Arena in Hamburg, Germany. Sturm staggered Castillejo with a left hook and landed several other hard shots in round one, while Castillejo closed the round with some good work. Castillejo dropped Sturm with a big left hook, followed by an uppercut and right hand in the second and furiously tried to finish the champion off, but Sturm survived the onslaught and fought back hard at the end of the round, which was stopped ten seconds early by referee Mark Nelson. Rounds three and four were fought at close quarters with both fighters landing good punches. In round five, Sturm shifted his tactics, and found the key to victory which was boxing from the outside. Sturm's movement and quickness gave him an edge at long range and when Sturm won most of the exchanges when he came inside. Entering the tenth, Sturm had a wide lead. A desperate Castillejo tried to apply more pressure near the end of the tenth he caught Sturm on the ropes and connected with a left hook, three consecutive uppercuts and a left hook to the body. Sturm never went down, but was clearly hurt and referee Nelson jumped in to stop the fight. 38-year-old Castilljo is the new WBA middleweight champion! It is believed that Sturm likely suffered a broken jaw.

Wow this is shocking news, I would have never have thought that sturm would lose to a older Castillejo.

sturm will be back(i don't know about sturmrules). i didn't get to see the fight yet, but reading about it, sounds like sturm gave him major trouble, was way ahead on the cards and had him hurt at various times during the fight. from the reading i've done, sounds like sturm just got overwhelmed by a desperate castillejo late into the fight.

people saying that sturm sucks etc, need to first learn boxing. then come back and comment.

that is very wrong....sturm ran most of the night as he struggled to go toe to toe with castillejo.......the funny thing was even after he was knocked down in the 2nd, sturm went toe to toe with castillejo in the third and this is where is he realised that his way to win was to run and counter with flurries.......and NO he did not get overwhelmed by a desperate castillejo at all......castillejo just did what a fighter could do versus a runner...just kept punching to the body and to the head when possible..........and that is what wore sturm down........watch the tenth round again and you'll see sturm struggle from the beginning!
