a focused tyson would have beaten douglas easy.

the reason it never happened was because holyfield beat douglas..then tyson went to jail.......

Nah, even a skillfully prime Tyson may have lost against that version of Douglass. I do know for sure that he would never get ko'd if he was truly focused.

i think he just wanted the money against holyfield.

And yes, Douglas did get a long count, but he could have gotten up. He was lying there FULLY aware of the count. It doenst matter how long it is. U just gotta know how many #'s are left in the count until u gotta get up.

A count can be 8 seconds, 10 seconds, or even 12 seconds. It doesnt matter how long it is, the ref isnt counting actual seconds, hes counting in his head what he THINKS are seconds. IN the heat of action, its hard to make out exact seconds. THe mind makes u go slower, cause u think u might be goin to fast.

A fighter is entitled to believe that after 1, the # 2 will come, then 3 and so forth. Douglas didnt try to get up until a certain #. It didnt matter when it came, he still would have recovered.

            U dig?

An in-shape and fully active Douglas could have made any heavyweight of the time work for their money.

Idk if he could have beaten Tyson again, but it still would have been a hard fought battle.

Douglas just hated to train. He had skill, but he didnt like to work out. Becuase of his mothers death, he was motivated to train hard and KO tyson.

I think he could have beaten holyfield if had the same mindset. But part of being great, or even good, is to have the heart and mentality to train hard.

Hatton is always saying that if u dont like to train then ur in the wrong sport. In douglas's case, he was spot on.

I wouldn't know who would win. All i know is that Tyson never fought someone like Douglass in his prime, and he would have the hardest fight of his life. I give it 50/50..because i dont know for sure. It would go to the cards.
