The facts/dangers of protein shakes and the like is VERY true. I never said pro athletes know or don't know what they're taking. My comment was toward what average people don't understand about the complexity of training and using protein shakes and smoothies to optimize nutrition, which all athletes do. It's fairly easy to run afoul of the dozens of substances that are on various banned lists. Athletes have to be VERY careful and even then, mistakes and slip-ups happen. Few athletes could begin to really manage that, so they are at the mercy of their nutritional team (if they have one) and how diligent/competent they are. It's not easy ....

There is no "No" to that. That's reality.
