It is when youre practically two divisions below the superstar you're fighting. He was fighting a man who was knocking out 154lbders with one punch, while himself having a fragile chin even at lightweight against journeymen. He stayed in there on pretty even terms while unable to even be touched once. How long would a chinny lightheavy last with Wilder or Joshua?I can't see how he performed quite well? He was unconscious before the end of the 6th round. He didn't get half way through the fight.
If he took it to points or a late stoppage i could see a case for saying he did well but to get flattened before the end of the 6th? That's not performing quite well by any reasonable standard.Comment

Bull****
Canelo only had problems during the first 2 rounds, because of Khan's speed
by the third round Canelo started to adapt to Khan's speed and to time him, and those body blows started to land, swift and hard
by the 4th- 5th Khan was already getting gun shy, and was getting outboxed and outlanded
Canelo was schooling him before the finishing blow in the 6th
so no Virgil, Canelo won because he was the superior fighter, not because of a lucky punch, sorry for your Khanvas boyComment

Nobody made him take the fight. You can't give him credit for being chinny then agreeing to a huge payday against a very heavy handed fighter 2 weights above him.It is when youre practically two divisions below the superstar you're fighting. He cashed out, took a fight he had zero chance to win and got smashed in less than 6 rounds. I don't believe that deserves any credit.Comment

Exactly right. The idea Khan was winning easily is crazily. He was just surviving in there until the inevitable.Bull****

I didnt say he had a gun to hes head i said he was a guy with a chin that even failed him at lightweight who was in with a powerful middleweight and was in the fight up to the end. He wasn't floored three times leading up to it. Its easy to say it deserves no credit from a screen but anyone whos shared the ring with a much more powerful durable fighter who can end you at any moment and puts up a decent fight deserves credit. Its not as easy as it looks. Take your fragile chin in against a guy who hits hard two divisions up, see how well you do. Khan is chinny, not hes fault, and a total tool, hes fault. But boxings hard, harder when your fraglie and outgunned, and he doesnt clinch and run and stink the place out. He has a go and fights to the end. Easier said than done.Nobody made him take the fight. You can't give him credit for being chinny then agreeing to a huge payday against a very heavy handed fighter 2 weights above him.
