A part-time lefty presents no problem for Canelo and Danny know that. Jacobs will fight mostly from his dominant right-hand stance and switch to southpaw for brief periods to try to avoid heavy punishment when Canelo starts dominating the fight. I don't think you will see much offense from the left side from Jacobs. Trout presented some problems early in the fight for Canelo until Canelo figured him out. Besides Canelo is much improved since that fight. And as for Lara, he was in full out running mode trying to avoid punishment. It was sort of embarrassing for him.

I mean Jacob's has been telling anyone who'll listen for the past two years that he would stop Canelo if they ever fought so now is the time to back up all that woofing he's been doing,.....
      Exactly my thoughts

Jacobs can win this. I want to see him have his moment. This would be a career defining fight for a guy who has had a good career, but not great. He is as balanced of a fighter as I have ever seen. But there are 2 huge problems here. The first is Canelo is a better boxer now than when he fought Lara. He has improved something in his game nearly every time out. The second is I do not think Jacobs has shown an aggressive streak in his fights. He needs that to pressure Canelo, or else Jacobs will just get picked apart. Alvarez can throw effective shots moving backwards, something that most fighters can't do. Passiveness against Alvarez is death in the ring.

Overall, Jacobs has a great scouting report on Alvarez. He can beat him. But he needs to throw 12 rounds of serious shade at him, because Alvarez is peaking at this point in his career and dominates the center of the ring.

Lara beat Canelo 116-112 in that fight. The only rounds he lost were the ones he gave away by moving too much without punching. There is a reason dlh didn’t want to put him back in with Lara for a rematch. Canelo is the most protected fighter since JC Chavez and hmmm what do they have in common?

Jacob's is inherently more aggressive than Lara so I think he will come to fight. He also knows that winning a decision will be tough af against Canelo so playing it safe will not get him remotely close to victory.

Jacobs has been setting up the narrative, first he states that Canelo has the judges. Now he is saying Lara beat him. So if i connect the dots, Jacobs will try to move around like Lara but be a little more aggressive to try and get the decision. But didn't he say he'd stop canelo? So if he feels that way why would Jacobs bring up the judges and the Lara fight? Sounds like he doesn't believe he will stop canelo or even try tbh

Jacobs got the analysis right. Alvarez has bad lower body movement and he can be tagged well by a mover and jabber. Just keep moving. Alvarez will try to hit the body in the 1st half of the fight but if he is getting tagged by a jabber you affect him in 2 ways. Force him to move and we know he has stamina issues and punish him while taking no punishment. Don't give him a rest.
That’s basic. You have to take into consideration that Canelo’s experience will enable him to adapt and change game plans mid-fight or mid-round. He’s not going in there with one game plan, he’s not going to get frustrated when one game plan doesn’t work, he’s gonna change it up and approach Jacobs differently.

I believe the first few rounds will be slow, feeling each other out. Canelo is going to be countering Jacobs up top until the body opens up and that’s when Canelo will unleash the combinations.

Lara won the first 3-4 rounds, maybe? After that, he ran away like Canelo was Mike Tyson. Jacobs got knocked down by bums, struggled with some, and back ran away from GGG even though he came in as a light heavyweight. Canelo, on the other hand, stood his ground in the rematch.

Canelo lost to Mayweather, Lara & GGG(Twice). Jacobs needs a shut out or Knockout in order to win. Mayweather boxed Canelos ear's off and one judge still deemed it a draw! Canelo is overrated!

I thought Lara won the fight also but he left enough doubt when he started running. You can't do that against Canelo.

I think Jacobs can outbox Canelo but it won't be enough. He's going have to stun him a few times or get a few KDs. Jacobs has a sneaky, quick counter that he's dropped a few people with. If he can land a few of those when Canelo doesn't expect it, he might be able to get a dramatic reaction.

I would hate to be an opponent of Canelo where you know a decision victory might be out of the question.
