I think calzaghe was among the greatest smw's of all time. But I think lomachenko still is a long way off from coming close,to do that he needs to beat Mikey/Berchelt etc.still. Calzaghe is a old school g,love his style

I don't think they have a whole lot in common but I like both. I think Loma will go farther in his career but he's not as exiting for me to watch as Calzaghe. Part is that is the fact that Loma is a really tiny dude.

It's tough to rate either of them as Loma isn't done and I just didn't see enough of Joe against top competition, but Joe's win over BHop gets better every day...although that honestly was one of the worst fights ever. Never have I been so bored

I think Joe got a lot of undeserved disrespect. I mean, I get that people were frustrated by the way he managed his career, but no-one should be denying that he was a phenomenal talent.

There is only one guy who I would have had as a clear favourite over Joe if they both fought in their primes, and that's RJJ.

Loma's career is nothing like Joe's. Loma jumps at challenges and is happy to travel. Joe never felt the need to do that - he was content fighting who and where he wanted, without the need to prove himself. Loma has probably challenged himself already in his career more than Joe did in his.

Totally different guys, totally different styles. Comparisons seem forced. I mean, what, they were both very fast? Both had good stamina? (P4P I think Joe had better speed and stamina than Loma did. The guy was unbelievable.) I'm just not sure why the OP has created a thread with both of these fighters in it?

Lomachenko has a better resume already.

Not even close to comparable Lomachenko is a special talent.

I think Lomachenko is supremely gifted boxer.

I can't say the same about Calzaghe.

I like Lomachenko. I never liked Calzaghe.

why you compare calslappy to Loma? That is just ***ed up. Calslappy's resume is trash, dominated bums and refused to fight prime Roy Jones.

Loma is a waaaaay better fighter.

Nobody cares about Floyd’s win over Pac. It was too far gone. Same as Calzaghe fighting non prime Hopkins or RJJ. Realistically if Calzaghe had been a bigger star, fights at 168 would’ve been made long before Calzaghe fought BHop or RJJ.
