Everyone’s a great fighter compared to the fans. I like Munguia and am cheering for him, id support that he has sum “garbage” in him skill wise. We want him to get better, improve his technique. We see potential in him, that’s why hes a name already. He gets the money the DAZN contract, hype. But he also admitted he didn’t beat a 20-1 underdog. So criticisms are warranted. Dont forget we put these guys on pedestals when they do well. Can’t have it both ways. I’m a bodybuilding fan, commentators call athletes “out of shape” or “holding water”, “small”, “flat”, “bloated”, “soft”, “lacking”. Nobody takes these comments at literal values, it’s just relative to their peers.

If you compare him to someone like Hurd who is somewhat limited himself. You can see Hurd put some real effort in his boxing skills. He uses his size and solid chin much more effectively than Munguia.

Either way my thoughts on Munguia or any other boxer is just an opinion. It means about as much as any other opinion on here.

Well said. Sports, and maybe boxing the most is driven by speculation. Fights take a long time to materialize, without jawing about it in between nobody would care. If we were all a hundred percent sure of things we’d bet on every fight and not bother to watch while we collect our money. We’re all boxing fans on here. I’d like to think any two fans on this board could argue over a fight in a bar but would stand united if someone came in and said “boxing was ******, fixed, rigged, irrelevant, and a farce compared to mma”. Our opinions differ in this small circle of a forum but in the grand scale we all share a passion for the same sport.
