Comments Thread For: Canelo: I Don't Put Any Thought Into Jacobs' Weight Right Now

Saul Canelo' Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs have never missed weight for a 160-pound title fight, yet for whatever reason size continues to matter according to those assessing their May 4 title unification bout in Las Vegas, Nevada.

If we see the same Jacobs that showed up for the Derevyanchenko fight, this is going to be a short one. I hope he brings his best this time

It's interesting how Canelo and his team have made it seem that the weight on fight day isn't an issue, but it was clearly them who inserted the rehydration clause. Why minimize Wright as an issue yet go out of your way to insert that as a stipulation?

It's not a big deal Jacobs had to do the same for his last bout

Why would he? He got a rehydration clause put in the contract so he doesn't have to think about it.

Drop belts instead of defending them, make up 155 lb weight classes, rehydration clauses, you know...because that’s what fighters do when they don’t think about things. 🤦🏻*♂️😂

Is adding a rehydration clause by team Canelo showing a bit of hypocrisy? - In a twist many fans will find to be controversial, Team Canelo has...read more.

I like Canelo as a fighter but he is a bit of a lying hypocrite out of the ring

of course not, why would he

FACT: Canelo will be fighting a middleweight..... /story

all of this " big " talk..... is just rubbish

which is why the fighters don't care at all

could be wrong, but as far as I recall..... Golovkin did not use Jacobs size as an excuse, his idiot fans did

could be wrong about that, because Golovkin does make a lot of dumb excuses..... but I seem to recall the fans jumping on that one

if Jacobs beats Canelo it will not be because of his size

his rangy style may make it tricky, if he fights tall..... but middleweight is full of tall short fat skinny thick thin fighters..... and Danny Jacobs is one of them

when Canelo moved up to 160, he signed on to fight middleweights..... and Jacobs is a middleweight, so..... who cares?
